Bindippers Indoors – The Prematch Prattle

Hello honktonks.

This weekend will be more than interesting. Spurs are primed to smash all previous attempts in the ‘Faces With Egg On Them In One Football Stadium’ category in the Guinness Book Of Records.

Redschnapps, Gallas, Mickey Hazard, you name ’em… their appears to be a Tottinghams related punter on the end of every microphone in the country tipping us to win everything from Britain’s Got Gout to the Champions League itself.

Spurs have more form than Shergar when it comes to doing really well then completely failing to show up.

Liverpool arrive on a high – having beaten West Ham with some confidence last week – but my feeling is that their remission is a false one. Weight is added to my argument by the fact they are supposedly fielding Joe Cole. What a close shave that was.

My belief is that we will do them. But they will be a damn sight more difficult to break down if will pull the same stunt we did against The French and allow ourselves to  go one or two down. We need to be up and at ’em from the off.

Here’s my unique guide to losing money, then.

Us to win 2-1 is 7/1 HERE, Konchesky to be shown a card first is 14/1 HERE, Torres & J Defoe to both score in 90 minutes play is 6/1 HERE

And you can get a free £20 to bet when you drop a tenner HERE not to mention allow me to enjoy a banquet of turkey feet & chips come Christmas day.

Been watching some of the football shows here in Canada. It’s funny to see the pundits gushing about the Spurs. Apparently we are currently the most exciting side in the champions league. Who would have thought it ? Can’t honestly remember going into a game against Liverpool expecting anything else than a home win. The Bale/Johnson matchup should be a thing of beauty. Told the wife Daws was back in training. Her words were ‘thank God. He epitomises Spurs. He will take one for the team. We’ve missed that.’

o arry, would it kill you to be the bigger man and just admit that he brought in some good players:

Link to article with Arry saying Comolli’s crap

After all, he did bring 3 of 4 of our world class players in. Harry’s total: 0. But he is the reason we have crouch. So there’s that.

There are plenty at WHL who take issue with the same things as Harry does. Even have a look at Wenger’s quotes about him. Still it is a chance to dig at our manager so there’s that.

        Easy there.

I’m no fan of dodgy damien. He made some bad decisions, and on top of that seems like a bit of a cock. But I can also admit that he’s in some way responsible for bringing in some of the most exciting players we’ve had at the lane for a while.

Conversely, I’m very happy with Arry. For the most part he’s enjoyable to have around and I’m pretty much eternally grateful for what he’s done for the team. But he also often rubs me the wrong way, and to my mind his far too concerned how credit gets doled out (his philosophy seems to be that credit should go to him when we do well, and when we don’t, well, that’s bad luck, or scheduling, or the old regime).

Shades of grey, friend, shades of grey.

City 1 up. Must win game tomorrow. Why they’re all crapping on about winning the championship is beyond me.

  • Sid Trotter says:

I believe …. 2-1 to us. They are now getting organized, have trained all week for this major match for them and can share an egg and soldiers for breakfast without anyone nicking it (they are now south I presume)

    Gomes
    Scot/BillyG/Bull/BAE
    Palacios
    Rafa/Modders/Baler
    JD/3MP

If Rafa ain’t fit tomorrow, Corluka for Scot/Lennon for Rafa..
    Subs ; our usual suspects..
