Rumors emerging this morning indicate that desperate Inland Revenue officers determined to restore the public purse mounted an unauthorised and audacious swoop on the Tottingham manager in Madrid just 48 hours ago.

Two unmarked men approached Redknapp outside the Vicente Calderon stadium, fell to their knees and started tugging at his trouser leg to distract him while four others rifled cash and luxurious trinklets from his pockets.

‘I’m walking round the outside of the stadium, it’s a fantastic atmosphere, there’s all little stalls there selling sweets, got some sweets, me and Kevin, and it was so packed. The next thing there’s two guys on their knees in front of me and I felt someone pull my overcoat.’

‘I thought ‘What’s that?’, and didn’t take any notice. The next thing there’s two guys on their knees in front of me and they’ve got my trousers and they keep doing this (tugging) with them, pulling them.

‘I didn’t know whether to knee him in the gob or write him a cheque.’

‘I was shocked. You can imagine. I hadn’t experienced anything like this since me and Sandra had that long weekend in Longleat.’

‘I’m going: ‘Let go of my trousers’, pushing them away. While I’m doing that they’re rifling my pockets, there were about six of them. And then they went.’

‘I went to put my hand in my pockets and realised what they’d done. They took everything. All my money, credit cards, everything really. They didn’t get my passport or me trumpet, so the show will go on!’

When asked what he was doing in Madrid Arry replied,’ We was just on a shop up for sweets. There’s been no contact I …err ..we, well no one has spoken to anyone. But obviously he’s a big talent and he’s told me he wants to come.’

Just got back to hotel after game & beer today (more beer due shortly). Not read anyone elses thoughts yet, but here are mine.

Deserved a point, but that’s all. Hutton woeful for the goal. Daws & gallas were rocks. Bassoon, okconsidering not used to LB. Lennon gave the ball away far too much & will never play a decent final ball. How can a premiership player get away with. If he can’t do it now, never will. Jenas. End of, I’ve lost patience with him now. How are we going to find out if sandro is up to it if he doesn’t play? Pienaar, did ok but I
don’t he was used to the amount of movement that we play with, but will be fine. Vdv. Ok but frustrated & frustrating. Cut out the diving. JD, offered himself but never really given too many chances except for the poor miss just before ht.

I’ve left modders till last on purpose. If this guy doesn’t win player of the season, there is no justice. I don’t just mean for us, I mean pfa, football writers, ballon d’or, next pope. The man is just unbelievable. There was one point in 1st half when he rode about 5 tackles retained possession & played a stunningball to pienaar. Even the Geordie bastards stood & applauded.

One other point. The yid army totally outsung the Geordie boys.I was in amongst the Newcastle fans & the support from our fans was brilliant.

Sorry, no point commenting on bale. Wee jimmy did well when he came on, should have been a bit sooner maybe.

Oh, and Crouch. I won’t criticise, all I’ll say is I hope that someone else wants to sign him.

Looks like Modders is back to his best and the form he displayed for Croatia against England when our World class midfielders spent 90 minutes chasing his shadow.
Suspect he will get even better provided he can avoid any more serious injuries.
I have seen Newcastle fans singing his praises after todays game on some other blogs.
Watch out for the Geordie women!!!

lets face it, we’ll be lucky if we dont get relegated to the blue square conerence this season …. discuss

Couldn’t agree more. I think we should go balls out to get Benzema in and resurrect his career and our chances of maintaining football league status

    Glad to see beckham’s helping lennon’s crossing…
