West Ham indoors then.

An event in the social calender marked only by the increased usage of disinfectant by The Lane’s dedicated domestic crew.

All jokes to one side, the Primark Massive have hit the form of their lives in the last few weeks and whilst they’re not out of it yet, the Hammers are giving every indication of a mob genuinely reluctant to be relegated. The resurgence is largely down to the availability of Hitzlsperger. Is he all things to all men? I think not, but a team as miserable as West Ham were bound to be radically shaken up by the addition of even one half good player.

The Ammers haven’t won at The Lane since 1999 and the bloke wot lead them to their glorious victory that day was one Harold Engelbert St Hubbins Redschnapps.

So what of our lot then? Well it’s that old striker chestnut again, isn’t it? Which infuriating ‘not quite’ combo will we opt for? Whichever it is, they need to be effective. West Ham sit 4th in the form table and aren’t coming by just to scruff up the toilets.

VdV to score between 21st-45th minutes @14/1.

55% of the possession, 14 shots on target, 12 shots off target and no goals.

With a midget as a loan ‘striker’ can we wonder at it?

When big Tom returns we will score more if Harry fucks 451 off it don’t work with Defoe and Van and it has stopped working with Crouch . Defoe and Crouch played we scored more last year without Van Der Vaart Hudds can stop this energised defending by getting Lennon and Bale behind defencies. How many of you fans would be Happy scoring two crackers and then watching Milan on your arse the answer is none. Harry is not winning because he is wrecking heads with Rotation madness just like The Spanish waiter did at Liverpool when the finished 5th. Just take a look at other results all strikers are suffering from lack of space and pumped up defenders at least eight Wake up Toure is not alone and the FA are trying to hide this form of cheating Defoe is a Victim of this abuse.

I’m not going to buy into the hyper-energy shit (sorry Davspurs), but I will point the finger at VdV a bit. There has to be a reason why our strikers have just completely stopped scoring, other than that they’re shit. They’re okay, goodish, but not excellent. But not this poor. For me the common denominator to this is VdV, and trying to accomodate him. I thought Harry had finally learnt a lesson in the league and ditched the one up top approach? He’d been playing two strikers and it seemed to pay off; at least we were scoring. We just don’t have a striker capable of playing one up, so why on earth does he keep going at it? It’s a tough call but you’ve got to drop one of those flair midfielders for the sake of balance. Teams aren’t built around the most talented 11, but the best combinations. Elemental football, and I think Harry’s got it very wrong.

I am not going to argue against your VdV comments because I have made this very point previously, that his (barring injury) automatic inclusion in the 1st 11 for his 65-70 mins dictates our formation, and more often than not dictates the one up top scenario, regardless of who the one usually is.

The problem I have is, since the VdV inclusion as the 5th midfielder/deep striker is nigh on automatic, he needs a better team playing striker who scores, up top. For the life of me I can’t understand how – given who we have on our books – Pav isn’t the first choice. IMO, of course.

Eastanglianspurs we had 24 off target and 9 on target and 62 percent. This is normal when energy is used trust me the highest one was Sunderland 32 and 9 against Blackpool who won 2-0. The states tell the tale in every one of these games .This is how it goes they defend in numbers and attack in the same fashion then they when they should be knackered and get beat. But now at Half time its top up time and then they do the same and either win by frustrating there opponents and hitting them late on with a sucker punch or if they score early they defend for there lives and Win or get a Draw. This is premiership shock ball caused by energy abuse to stifle talent.

I was quoting the Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation figures.

Perhaps, too, it’s time to scrap the offside rule, that’ll f**k up the parked bus routine for sure.

I suppose the other point here is what old Cloughie used to say to his forwards: “If you really want to score goals you will score goals.”

  • AS says:

But Defoe did stop scoring long before VDV turned up and if we had better options up front VDV would be dropped but the alternatives are nothing to write home about. Whoever has played up front this season we have failed many times to turn domination into goals because despite if being obvious to many fans we ignored the weakness of our strikers all summer.
