Good afternoon.

Today has been awash with crude photo-shoppery. I am confident that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Here then are my preferred choices. Perhaps readers might like to share their views on what they might hope for or even knock up and share their own work.

One wonders if Berbatov was injured.

Manu didnt get the ball often and when they did, Chicarito seemed to lack the guile/skill/craft to make an impact at this level. They desperately needed more players who could hold on to the ball under pressure when they got it and Berbatov is excellent at that.It seemed a mistake not to at least have him on the bench unless he was unfit.

I agree with Finn that Rednose doesnt let top players go often, but there have been a few who still had plenty more miles in the tank – Beckham, Ruud, Stam and Ronaldo. In almost all the cases there had been some sort of argument/personality clash or he thought they were too big headed and not enough of a team player.

I dont want to reopen the Berbatov (would we have him back) debate, however I suspect he is not a happy bunny after last night (didnt even sit with his teammates). Whether or not you would have him at the club, you cant argue that he is far superior to all our other strikers.

His mentality is different from most players and thats what sets him apart from other players. He certainly likes to do his own thing. If he was available, would he want to come back to us?

I’m more with FHS than Finn here. Not that it hasn’t served him well in the past, but Suralix does have a tendency of selling great players. Apart from fake Ronaldo (who went because he wanted to) the other super-stars have been shipped out in order to create balance or harmony. Expressly NOT because they didn’t cut the mustard as individuals. They have all gone on to enjoy great success elsewhere (except skinny Ronaldo).

I think we can say for certain that Berba was not injured. Rednose clearly stated his absence as a difficult choice. As for him not even being on the bench, that’s probably the proverbial toy out of the pram. To be honest, and with the benefit of hindsight, playing Hernandez was probably a mistake. Sure, he ran about a bit, but did he actually help win the ball even once? They needed to be able to hold the ball up, which Berba could do.

On another note, what, exactly, was the point of their midfield yesterday? Nani dropped to accommodate Ji-Sung for the running and positioning, but no Fletcher. Don’t understand. Unless Sluralix figured the task was so hopeless that tactics became almost irrelevant. Maybe then his plan was to field cryptic tactics, just on the off chance that they won by some miracle, so he could be hailed as a genius. Harry stuff, in other words…

It is scary how much Modders would have improved their center. Also scary how well he would fit in with Xavi, Iniesta & Messi.

Just curious as to why you say “skinny” Ronaldo has not enjoyed great success?

He scored the winning goal for Real Madrid in this year’s Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona – and this year he became the first and ONLY player to ever score 40 goals in a La Liga season. Plus Los Galacticos pay him £11 million a year.

Granted, Real Madrid only finished runners-up in La Liga behind the greatest team in the world in the two years he’s represented them… but I’m sure most Madrid fans would think “fake” Ronaldo’s winning goal against the same team in the Copa Del Rey did constitute a “great success”?

I think you’ll find Real fans do not consider the last two years successful. Sure, they finished second to the best team in the world. Therein lies the failure. Real have only succeeded if they are the best team in the world, by their own high standards.

On a personal level, he has had a great season, but that wasn’t what I was referring to. And there is time yet for him to find glory after Old Trafford, but as of yet, it has yet to happen.

You may in my comment also sense a certain amount of vitriol. You would be correct in that observation. I think he is a horrible cheating c*nt. It is either proof that god has a cruel sense of humor, or that he doesn’t exist, that such a dick be afforded such irrepressible talent.
