All Over Bar The Niggling

Good afternoon.

This is simply a last call for anyone wishing to devote just two minutes of their action packed lives to taking part in the Supporters Survey which is HERE.

The reason for this prolonged plugging is hopefully a good one. I’ve been in pretty productive communication with the chaps behind the Supporting Our Future who’s site is HERE.

Oh yes, I have heard from an exceptional source that Azza Blud is going through the self indulgent motions as Defoe was. Blaming everyone and anyone but himself for not living up to the burden of expectation. Niggles with Arry, giving Levy & Co a headache with regard to his contract negotiations.

  • I would imagine his usefulness to the club is under scrutiny.

His game is far from perfect, the problem with pacey players is they can loose that edge very quickly and unless there is something else to their game..then its problematic, Michael Owen anyone.

He is injured alot and I found his pairing with Corluka down the right to be the worst part of our play last season, they dident seem to click.

His price in my mind will ebb over the next 2-3 years unless he steps up which I dont think he can and this shortens his play-life.

For me he threatens alot but rarely pulls it off, goes missing toward the end of games, doesent track back when he looses possesion which quite frankly is more often than not and continually throws his hands in the air when he does loose the ball.

If you offered me 20 million, I would bite your hand off…

    • PS…Oh did I say hes also an arrogant pompous twat, constantly glaring and trying to look hard, it does make me laugh…kids honestly..

I agree with a lot that you say but not about tracking back ,I reckon he does a lot more than most about that. Also I seem to remember that he scores some vital goals for us at the end of the game and in extra time. Also its funny how everyone sees things differently as I reckon he plays well with Charlie behind him as he gives some nice through balls for him to run on to unlike the scotch nutter and johnsom for england.they both cramp his style, On the other side of the pitch bale and benny sue have a good understanding. agree about the scowling faces though ,him and defoe need to put a smile on their faces when they play it makes all the difference.Palaciuos looks at least grateful to be on the pitch with our shirt on.They need some PR COACHING AND LIFE SKILLS. :freu

He needs one of our strikers to make a run to the near post instead of behind defenders as they aleays seem to do then we would get more goals from his wing play, but alas our forwards were impersonating Bendtner last year and couldn’t hit a barn door.

I agree with a few people that he’s worked hard on the defensive side of his game. He was impressive defensively in a couple of the CL games (Not the one he had the flaky before obviously!!!) so fair play.

I don’t think his final ball has improved that much but he’s kind of worked his way around it by becoming the master of the pull back from the dead-ball line. Actually… Maybe it’s been just as well he does that and aims for the deeper midfielders as the dollops up front probably wouldn’t put the ball awayn if you put fake boobs and a line of coke on it.

I’d be sad to see him go – Especially when you see him at full pelt like for the goal in Milan.

Whenever I’ve seen Lennon last season, which is a lot, he has always worked hard at tracking back. It is one of the readily noticeable improvements in his game, though the end product is still too often lacking. What he is like off the pitch I have no idea, though if the critical reports about that are as reliable as those about his laziness on the pitch, I wouldn’t give them too much credence

For a winger he has no tricks up his sleeve. So, from a standing start when confronted by a defender he has to lay it off. No step overs or Gazza turns.
Pretty one dimensional in that respect not that he can’t be effective when he has the right sort of pass to deal with.

    Shooting from the hip….

    – Few wingers are consistently good. Those that are are rare and expensive.
    – Lennon has pace and a reasonable ability to provide a final ball that is getting better each season
    – Having pacey wingers each side is a rarity
    – $20M for Lennon wouldn’t buy anyone better
    – Lung-busting runs and dribly trickery requires motivation. If he wants to leave sell him to the highest bidder.

    Replacement plastic hip on order.

oh yes please put hh out of his misery and do the right thing and and complete the survey!you :hae: know it makes sense

  • gilbo says:

I just don’t think lennon has improved on what he was doing 4 years ago. No progression.

He’s exciting on the ball 3/4 times a match, but actually creates 3/4 goals a season
