BMJ’s Fulhaming Hotspurs

Afternoon all.

It took approximately 27 seconds from the confirmation of old Marty for the A Team type speculation to kick in.  Longer than I expected.

In 2007 a crack commando unit were transferred out to various naff teams by a depressed Chairman for crimes they they bloody well did commit. These men promptly escaped from a number of sh*t clubs and to a Cottage in Fulham. Today, still wanted by insane managers, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire BMJ’s Fulhaming Hotspurs.

Ba dada daah dumdum daah.

So who do you believe will part of Chairman Mo’s brave new world? This popped up on Twitter yesterday and some interesting names were thrown into the mix. PSB was regarded as nailed on.  Timothée Atouba’s name was mentioned and candles across the globe were lit at the mention of *****.

Who do you think he’ll land and will Staples be adjusting their ordering strategy for the South East if Chris Pictionary Hughton becomes his ‘numero dos’?

Interesting to note that Les Ferdinand’s Twitter profile now says “Retired striker coach”. By mutual consent?

@ loz lorenzo and anyone interested

wow that swiss ramble is good and explains things well if he is right of course if any of you want a good read about tottenham go to the swiss ramble link above and the tottenham link and read spurs daring to dream, very interesting, sorry i can’t link from my ps3,

city won’t get banned from anything as uefa will only ban the smaller/poorer clubs who over extend like porstmouth for example, the super rich owners can just sponsor the club anyway through their companies, city earn more than us anyway now through their own sponsors, its amazing the city wage bill and only going to get bigger

in short why do stadiums cost so much money and why do wembley and arsenal get public money but we don’t sadly the only way we will ever properly compete is with a billionaire who genuinely supports tottenham and willing to blow the cash just for the buzz

Yeah, Rambler is good. All his numbers are straight out of the clubs’ financial statements, so they are definitely correct (unless the clubs are cooking the books, which I won’t rule out). As an analyst myself, I tend to agree with his assessments as well.

He doesn’t make too many concrete predictions, so there really aren’t any contentious claims. He basically just explains the clubs’ financial situation with a little bit of relevant commentary and background. It does save you the thankless job of getting hold of and poring over the club accounts yourself though, which is what I like most about the guy.

As for the super rich owners, they won’t be able to float their teams forever, and there will be limits even to start off with. I haven’t looked at the regulations in a good while, but if memory serves; when the rules come into play in a couple of years, the owners will be allowed to inject 30m per financial year. This must be in the form of added equity, rather than stock issues or the like. After the first 3-4 years this allowance will be reduced to a lower level (about 5, but make allowance for my poor memory). After a further few seasons the acceptable funding level will be further reduced, although UEFA have not set a specific level for that reduction. In stead they have said that it will be assessed and decided at some point in the future. Their stated ambition is to eventually have a situation where clubs must survive on their own football-related cash flow over a three year assessment period.

*about 15m, but make allowance for my poor memory and typing

thats right and i think a club can still post an acceptable loss from what i understand so everyone doesn’t have to be in profit ever

can’t the super rich like the blue arabs just say for example sponsor man city via naming rights or shirt sponsor whatever they like, thats what i’d do if i was a billionaire

great site i love all the tables about wages and turnover in the articles, the portsmouth chairmen were bonkers they thought they were a club like us or villa paying those wages back in 2009,when you look at wages we put up a decent fight compared to the 5 clubs above us,i can’t understand why city would pay some of those wages to certain players they ain’t that good, its madness and shows you need people with more money than god to really break on through

Will be good to see Jol back at the Lane, a chance for the fans to say a proper thank you/ goodbye.
He was not perfect but his honesty was like a breath of fresh air, especailly when you compare the interviews he gave with those provided by Wenger.
For all the good Levy has done (and I do think he has done a lot) the way he/ the board treated BMJ at the end of his reign was disgraceful.

got to agree,BMJ was a joy to behold, even rowing with wenger shame he whored himself about to get a new contract.slightly backfired that one.berbatoss didnt help the situation saying he wouldnt stay under jol

  • rich g says:

i liked joller too, but he seemed to have lost the plot at the end, bad negative tactics and playing peeps out of position, got 5th place with worse players than arry had the luxuery of inheriting

    • Harry Hotspur says:

I’d buy that rich, mate. Certainly BMJ smacked of the old ‘I could have been a contender.’
