That summed him up for me. He will score a lot of goals, maybe 20+ a season, but when it really matters, when that crunch moment comes along, he misses.that miss vs Swizterland was dreaful…whole goal to aim at, keeper on the deck, beautiful wembley turf, chance to round off our comeback and give us all three points….SKIES IT. Actually Bent scores at a lower rate than Pav in terms of goals per minute – despite Bent scoring so many. Bent’s goal record is overly-contrived because he insists on throwing a wobbly when he is not playing every minute of every game. This is really why he left Spurs. if he was true quality, he would have proven it at Spurs. But Bent is more concerned about his end of season goal total than whether his team is winning or playing well or not.
