‘He Won’t Be Sold At Any Price Because He’s Not For Sale’

Come here, there’s more…

Just had an email in from a really decent source who I pass on information from rarely as the bulk of their bits and pieces are fascinating but if run, would be be as good as naming that person.

The word from inside The Lane is that this agent of Modders is about as welcome as the severest bout of gout and may yet even prove himself to be less popular than the odious piece of muck that represented The Baldgarian.

Bids submitted for Modders will be summarily dismissed. There is no intention of the Club at this stage of entering into negotiations with anyone. He won’t be sold at any price because he’s not for sale. The view is that Modders is under a contract, no request has been handed in and that’s that.

Some were after something positive and this is almost that. It won’t stop the interest from other clubs, but that’s show business. This is the real world and as our mothers told us, you can’t have sweeties every day.

My view is that the bid from Cheatski is good news. It lacks ambition. If they had waded in at £40M things would be different, make no mistake.

So does any of the above guarantee he won’t be sold? Of course not. We aren’t children tugging at our mother’s sleeve for sweeties anymore.

We know when we just have to just wait.

Look. The Chelsea offer is ludicrous, even mouth-breathing racist reprobates know it.

“Tottenham Hotspur gave me my chance in the Premier League and I
want to go on to achieve great success here with them. Yes, there have
been enquiries from other big clubs, but I have no interest in going
anywhere. Last season’s Top 4 finish was an indication of where we are
as a Club and I feel I can continue to improve and go on to achieve
everything I want to at Spurs”
    – Luka Modric, May 2010, 6 year contract signed.

Luka Modric this week: “I’m a Tottenham player and will be in London on July 7 to begin preparing for the season. But I want to say that transfers could occur later. In England it is often the case they happen on the last day of the transfer period, August 31. So it is pointless to worry about anything now. If my situation changes after the start of preparation it would not be a problem.”

    Allegedly.

True, he probably said something close to those quotes (allowing for poor translation). There’s a bit more to it than that, though, isn’t there…

I would guess that I have about 50-60 conversations a day. An average conversation is maybe about 10-20 sentences long (for my part). That means I utter in the region of 500-1200 sentences each day. Each one of those sentences is spoken in a certain context.

Above we have 7 sentences spoken in the course of the past 13 months, taken out of whatever context they were in.

      Allegedly.

Did you know that it’s a well known fact that 85% of statistics used in conversation are made up on the spot.

        • LosLorenzo says:

60% of the time, it works every time!

(technically my previous post didn’t have any statistics in it. Just estimates. And yes, I did ‘estimate them up’ on the spot)

          I think your 100% right

He looks to be going. Adam is signing for 10/12m. Deal agreed!

  • Morgan says:

Jenas is better than Adam. Ive been told by my same source that we will take 30m for Modric. He has aasked for them to listen to offers from CL teams. I honestly hope this person is wrong for once

In the cold light of day – not a natural point of view for a supporter of any football club I grant you – what does anyone imagine the chances are of a player at a non Champions League club declining the option of Champions League footy and double, triple or whatever their wages?

    Answers on a postcard……..

It’s not about what Modric wants, that’s a given. Or the manager, that’s a given too. It’s about Levy, temptation, shareholders and whether, when push comes to shove, Danny boy feels that THFC has a big enough long game in it under its current circumstances. My suspicion has always been that Levy won’t put his foot fully to the floor until we have the number of seats it requires to pay for it without going the Leeds route.

Until then it’s the Europa League for us unless ‘Arry can find 3 more Sandro’s for defence and attack and deliver a humdinger of a season full of consistency. Given our results during the last few months, my money’s on 6th, with or without Modric. As per usual though; I’ll be dreaming of him proving me wrong.

    COYS

Sadly I have to agree. Even more sadly, I think DL is probably doing the right thing, as you so elegantly put it, “until we have the number of seats it requires.”

At least I get to rant and rave online. That helps.
