Lukewarm Gossip

Good morning.

Another week behind the wheel of the the old Spurs jalopy. We rumble on as we’re overtaken and undertaken on all sides. Rumours in Goonerville are of a medical for Mata and advanced talks for Benzema. Mancini is still playing FM at Eastlands. Dalglish is hoovering up players.

Meanwhile in downtown Tottingham I am told that certain Spurs players are dragging their heels and clutching their contracts.

Defoe, 3MP and J**** are all viewing the prospect of moving oop north and taking pay cut like a tabby cat viewing a swimming pool.

Enquries Bentley consist of Alex McLeish offering £850 and a secondhand set of Dunlop golf clubs. Oh and a Shop Mobility Centre in Gants Hill want him to open their new cafe next weekend.

I’m becoming increasingly cheesed off with the gaping lack of self respect in evidence amongst  these chancers. I know J**** is in receipt of a kicking every time his name is mentioned and I don’t get any pleasure from that. But neither do I get any enjoyment from seeing him on the team sheet anymore.

PSB is obviously trying to conduct a face saving exercise but my belief is he will sooner rather than later naff off. But the others are clinging on buy their grasping fingertips.

I’m an advocate of supporting the man in the shirt to the hilt, but our squad is currently burdened with failures who can’t take a bloody hint. Jermain Defoe was booed at Milton Keynes I am told. Whilst I don’t approve, if I was him I’d jack it in and move on. But then I’m not him. I still have my feet on the ground and if I was on £35,000 a week A WEEK and was suddenly told I had to get by on £25,000 a week A WEEK it wouldn’t exactly have me checking down the back of the sofa for loose coins.

I can cope with self interest. We all need to look out for ourselves and those we love, but this just makes me plain angry.

Fackinel, I could strongle them.

All this first and second crap, get a life, its beyond sad.

I wouldnt take a pay cut but then Im not rich its more of an issue.

We have to be careful with all these players like Bentley and Dos Santos becuase we are clerly trying to recoup our losses but their values will ONLY go down until they eventually lavce for free.

Seems we are asking too much, looking to buy too cheap..

My Sunday side thought about bidding for Bentley, but he turned us down as we couldnt offer him a guaranteed starting place.
Turned our attentions to Sandra now

She’s a better finisher than Barren Dent apparently

We have a saying up here in Yorkshire ‘You can put a pig in your parlour but it will still be a pig’. I often remind myself of this saying when thinking about David Bentley at Tottenham. Apart from ‘that goal’ against Ar5ena1 and his pre-season debut at home to Roma he has looked so far out of his depth he even makes 3MP and J…… look like proper football players. This saying also applies to Rubberchops but that’s for another day….

The more they do this the less desirable they are too! What club wants to ship in a player in their late 20’s early 30’s with the prospect of having them on the books way after their back legs have gone.

Their hanging on to their lucrative contracts is no less sickening than Modric wanting to break his. Its no wonder Dan the Man gets pissed off, he’s being assaulted from both sides. Next time Luka comes in bemoaning the chicken badge Caniel should walk him aroiund….”Luka this is Ledley, he gets paid even if he can’t do more than a dozen games a season. This is where Woody sat, he got paid for no games a season. This is the circus man and the pointy-shouty man they are strikers who are on strike, but still get paid and these are the Jermaines for whom not fulfilling their promises it seems is actually not germaine to their getting paid…….. now lets look at how a 6 year contract works for both parties”

My own view on these guys is ship them out. PSB, Bentley, Jen – arse, and at least one or both of 3MP and the small man with no nickname. Begbie can go, and maybe Bassong. The sarge is already packing his kit bag, tho’ I have no gripe against the man.

That’s at least 7off the wage bill, even if we all but pay to see the back of them.

    Keep Niko.

Jenas gets a tough ride. he is a squad player. He performs a good role. he doesn;t moan in the press. He gets on with it.

If we moved him on, who would we get in his place, any better, any cheaper, who would be happy to spend so much time not playing. Played about 14 games last season and about 10 the season before.

As for Bentley he just keeps blowing every little chance he gets. Even at Brum he failed to impress when he had a 7 foot giant to aim his “Beckhamesque” crosses at.

It’s become traditional to slag off Jenas, people do it without even thinking. As you say he is a squad player, gets on with it and doesn’t moan, at least not in public.

    • Spurfect says:

I was thinking something similar earlier. He’s been at the club for what, 6 years? Despite his failings he does generally put the effort in. I wouldn’t say I dislike him as a person, he always comes over well in any interview he’s ever given, positive, loyal etc.

Unfortunately he’s always been full of promise but never delivered consistently. Never fulfilled his potential. But he never will now, doesn’t get a game often enough and is surplus to the level we want to be playing at now.

Surely has to be one to move on now. He’d actually do well at another club. A cheeky swap for Rodwell wouldn’t go a miss?

    • spurious supporter says:

if they gave out awards for happily sitting on the bench without complaint, Jenas would be at the top of the list. Strangely enough, our expectations are a little higher :shocked2:
