Autopsy – The Our Fans Suck Edition

Afternoon.

The mood in the camp? Oh I think moribund is a good word. Charity begins at home so let us start there. Anyone know why it took four goals before our magnificent home fans begrudgingly gave us a few rounds of ‘When the Spurs go marching in’?

On a positive note, our lot can boo upon demand. Nasri was booed excellently and Modric got a nice dismissive burst of boos when he was subbed. Impressive stuff.

I tell you this, there is a malaise at Spurs and it’s not just in the dressing room, it’s in the home stands. I really can’t recall the last time I went to The Lane and wasn’t irritated by some genuinely thick , deeply unpleasant people. Our away fans are a delight. The contrast is chilling. Had you not been told otherwise and were just listening you’d say the game was at Eastlands.the TV

So well done everyone for yet again filling the TV images with empty seats. You deserted at United and you deserted again today. A balloon if you can identify the fan sneaking out before full time let alone added time at Old Trafford in the photo at the top of the blog.

So to the game. The tactics matched the performances in that they were both bizarre. Crouch, bar one header achieved nothing of note. Azza Blud managed to spoil at least three moves due to his inability to cross a ball. Bale was supposedly wanted by Barcelona and every other top top club in the world last season. So why isn’t he deployed more? Nobody passed to him for the first 30 minutes. Was that a plan? Our back four is riddled with gout yet should Dawson, Kaboul and Charlie be such a fifth rate combo? And what has become of Gomes? He’s burped into being our third choice goalie. And replaced by a guy that lets in 7 in two games. That’s show business, eh? Modric didn’t look happy, Kranjcar didn’t look happy. Huddlestone came on and unbelievably did nothing whatsoever yet again. In short we need to clutch rosary beads and hope that the results of these last two spankings don’t get out. If they did and you were toying with the idea of joining us, would you? Mind you better to quit while you’re ahead, rather than join a gang of quitters followed by quitters, eh?

I don’t think it matters who we bring in at this point because Redknapp gets to manage them. Crisis is an understatement. Redknapp is not up to it its clear to see with the teams he puts out, very predictible, very basic, no innovation. I know now why Real sold us VDV…..he couldn’t play him in his preferred formation, just is the case with us. His corners were diabolical, he loses it very easy and pretty much wants to take everything…almost like a little twat that used to play on my team many moons ago alas !!!!!!!

First league game for 5 years. Big disappointment. No bite. Don’t fancy Parker but, as stand in for sandro, I understand it.

Loosing patience with Defoe. Shoot on sight is soo predictable. Vdv must work on set pieces. Shocking for a number of months. Bale was marked out of the game. He had to go inside for space. Corluca is a liability. Walker was on the bench so I assume he was barely fit… In which case why have him on the bench.

We didn’t compete for most of the game. Had crouch scored that header we would still have lost. City will be 2nd to united this year so no shame. I just hoped we might compete. We were poor at the end of last season and continue to be. We needed early signings to take on tour and bed in. Too late now. Will be Xmas before we improve.

Come on guys don’t get too gloomy we virtually played them off the park in the first 30 mins and were unlucky not to be 2 – 0 up.

Sorry I was watching on tv as could not get to WHL due to recent major surgery.

However tv commentary was so puke-making and biased in favour of Man Shite I was utterly flabbergasted that I didn’t throw-up myself.

Quote – “Manchester City are beginning to look the part”
Considering all the hype of the Man City machine we have almost played them off the park for the first 30 minutes and somewhat unlucky that we are not leading 2 – 0! Might have been a very different story had both those chances gone in.

Quote – “Manchester City are beating a team that was in the top eight teams in Europe last season -no mean feat”

Considering all the hype surrounding Man City can they really be accorded the title of Galacticos considering the two ex-Gooners in their ranks? Get real.

Finally, ship Crouchy, the static robot, out asap to potter his way around opposition penalty areas at Stoke preferably with the pogo stick that he persists in leaving in the WHL dressing room.

Look forward to life with Adebayor who is going to be miles more effective because he’s got something to prove.

And encourage Livermore by the bucketload, because he is going to be the box to box midfield general that Jenas was bought for those many years ago. Bye bye JJ your time is up too.

Bye bye Modric too at £40m snap Chelscums hands off and also report them to the Premier League so they get fined and it doesn’t happen again. If any player is coming the other way not Benayoun but Sturridge for the future. Sorry, Modders but you’ll have to take the money to line your piggybank because you ain’t gonna win trophies with that lot.

Is there no hope for us considering we only shipped 3 against Manure compared with the Gooners shipping nearly THREE times that at 8!

Brightened up a gloomy day enormously!

Have a season ticket…thank god I was on holiday!
Cannot bring myself to watch the game.

3 things come to my mind

    1. Man City have some simply amazing players who we could not afford to buy or pay. Even if we matched offers made, even if it was 1 year ago when we have CL and they didn’t, the players would follow the money. City are now a top quality unit and they had the disadvantage of having 1 injury to deal with. They were at full strength, they were on a roll and confident. They will cause many better teams than Spurs many problems. There is no shame in defeat, but from what I hear the shame is in the performance we put in.

    2. Spurs did not have the luxury of 1 injury. they have about a dozen. What a difference a fit Sandro, Huddlestone, King, Gallas and a focussed Modric could have made. We aparently seemed in disarry and it is no wonder. We were up against a quality outfit and had a patched up spine!

    3. Tactics/Slection – Central Midfield. It makes no sense to me to play a self-confessed distracted Modric alongside an inept central midfielder in Kranjcar. Sure its the first home game of the season. Sure we need to look to win home games but given our squad, we should have gone out to avoid defeat. Hudd is carrying an injury but if he could play 45m then he could manage at least 60m. He played 90m vs Hearts. he should have been in there, with Livermore to protect the back 4. If injured then he doesn’t even need to leave our own half. Just stick in there and keep them out. Crouch has been injured for about 2 weeks and we throw him in to a massive game when he even at his best he’d struggle to have an impact. None of the team selection and tactics made any sense to me.

On the plus side we have a couple weeks to regroup. The window will close & reality will hit Modric who wil have to pull his socks up! Adebayor will come in. Maybe Huddlestone gain some fitness, and supplemented by some new signings.

On the bright side, if we beat Wolves, we will have a better return of points from the same games last season! Its early days, long way to go after the toughest start possible. Think of it like a tennis match… Lost the first game in the set against the best server in the game (expected) but were then broken on your own serve. 0-2 down, first set, still a long long way to go!

One final thing….there is no good reasopn why the parker deal could not have been done 1 week ago. It could have made a real difference Sunday in a very weak area

  • Useful information. Lucky me I discovered your website unintentionally, and I am shocked why this coincidence didn’t took place earlier! I bookmarked it.
