Good morning lynch mob members,

I trust we’ve someone one with strong rope and another with at least directions to a stout tall tree. Although it needn’t be to tall…

Via the highly esteemed COYS and sourced as being Tweeted by one Irish journo, Ken Early we have some interesting depressing ‘quotes’ from two of our brave boys after the Republic Of Debt played The Croatianists.

Here’s the audio: http://audioboo.fm/boos/436439-modric-ireland-mixed-zone-august-9

IRL mixed zone reporter: “Can you stay sharp if you don’t get game time for Spurs?”

Robbie Keane: “How’d you know I won’t?” *awkward silence*

Modric on Chelsea move: “Idon’t want to talk about it. I said a lot of things before and things are still the same… still waiting.”

reporter: “Will you be happy if you’re still a Spurs player on September 1?” Modric: *grinning* “See you.”

On PSB there’s little to say, little in fact worth saying. He’s like that character in The Full Monty who was made redundant 6 weeks ago but still kisses his wife goodbye in the morning before frittering away his day between libraries and sitting in the park.

On Modric there can be two possible conclusions.

The first is that he has a serious Chicken Badge allergy and the second is that he has another gentleman’s agreement speech in the pipeline. This time bleating that Levy assured him of a big name or two before the window closes. A statement of intent to match his commitment for honouring his contract.

Either way, I’ve had more positive starts to a day. I think the obvious trick here would be for Modric to make a statement that he’s committed to the our money the cause for at least another season.

Top o the morning to ya.

It is the same every August:
    1) We have a star player who wants out and starts sulking.
    2) We want to pay knock down prices for (supposedly) quality players.
    3) We want to charge silly money for average players.

The usual scenario is that (1) eventually happens but too late for us to replace him properly, nothing happens on (2) or (3) so on the last day Levy attempts to pacify the fans with a signing we didn’t really need. It happened with Pav and also with VdV and it nearly happened with Adams in January.

    It is all so depressing.

Yes, it feels sickening to think Modders still wants out…but were he a Spurs fan we’d be in agreement with him.

We are asking the guy to be happy to play in a team that has shown no ambition in the past two-going on three transfer markets.

Last season we knew we needed a striker, didnt get one, shirked off getting Rossi for £18m, hiding from £26m Llorente. Every team above and immediately below us has improved and we are saying…’boats sinking, trying to plug the holes, stay here a plug holes…we’re unwilling to pay to have the holes fixed’.

Yes, he certainly should stay, but YES we need to be fair the the fucker and buy a striker who can actually finish off the hard work he puts in.

No point having Modric, Bale, Lennon, VdV and THudd if we dont have anyone to finish off their work.

  • Jean de Floret says:

just heard that real want to give us cash and Benzema for modders. I don’t want him to go, but that would be the best scenario for us. Problem is I can’t see Benzema wanting to come unless VdV can work some magic

  • Spurfect says:

First of all where are these actual quotes from Modric? Wheres the footage?

Second on all, Ken Early. Another ginger t*$$er (no offense gingers out there) who is another Adrian Durham, mouthy git who wants to progress his career by being ‘different’

In the words of the aforementioned tw*t Durham ‘don’t mug yourself off boys’
