Hello Honky Tonks.

We done ’em. Eventually. Which is possibly harsh, but true.

The first half was pretty mediocre. I only watched from about 20 odd minutes in but it was all a bit pace-less. Picture two Championship at Wembley for the first time, trying to get to grips with the size of the pitch and the occasion.

Eventually, Adebayor kept his head and slotted his debut goal away. Not long after Defoe scored, leaving Wolves looking pretty fangless.

On Wolves, a mention of Jamie O’Hara. Something happened at some stage between him and Bale. Maybe Bale isn’t even aware of this thing whatever it is, but in young Jamie’s mind it certainly exists.

Brad  6 Some naff kicks out. Must do better

A&E 7 Bit of a love, really

Walker 6.43 Generally good. Needs a bigger brain

Kaboul  5.98 Frequently in a china shop

King  5  Sluggish

Krankie  5.9 Modest contributions

Modric 7.73 Some sublime balls (that’s what she said) but several wasted

Parker 7.72 Good stuff, looked like a Pathe News clip when running

Bale 7.61 To be frank, he needs to start raising his game soon…

Adebayor 8 He brought hope

Defoe 7 Great little goal from the midget (occasional) gem

szólj hozzá: Wol 0-2 Tot

In case anyone needs to know, the PAOK game is on ESPN and Setanta Ireland @ 18.00.

Also the Shamrock game will not now be played at the Aviva, which means it is unlikely there will be more than about 1,500 tickets allocated to Spurs.

Oh, perhaps- I might just be able to make the game, and wondered if it was still trading, as I used the Talaght Cross a while back, but that closed down and the one I thinking of wasn’t in great shape when I was last there in 09. Being a Corkie I may just ‘go see’ and blag it!

*I would like to make an important announcement –

It has been a long and sometimes difficult decision but after a lot of soul searching I have decided to add this blog to my internet favourites.

Thank you for your attention and God save the Queen.

    The End*

It’s a bit like the footballing blog version of QI,(Can you imagine HH as a school-masterly Stephen Fry type?), bit of banter, sometimes heated, but no different to the pub or at the match. 35k people make for so many differing opinions, no-ones right or wrong, its just the world as you see it, I guess.

There is right and there is wrong, and then there is unfair. It’s unfortunate that some of us will resort to unfairness to make our point. Then wrong becomes dishonest.

As an example, I find myself less and less enamoured by our manager, but I recognise that he did some good things since he came. Then there are the Harry haters who will blame him for everything that goes wrong, and pass the credit for anything that goes right to anyone but HR.

As you appear to be a little more open-minded about our mutual love Can you recall these series of events as it’s something that’s been bothering me for a while and I’m uncertain if I’ve got the chronology right or not. Martin O’Neill was offered the job at Spurs but turned it down (allegedly) because Levy wouldn’t give him a free hand to run the club as he (M O’N) saw fit. Harry was then appointed and all the backroom boys were dismissed.
Harry on his appointment said that he couldn’t operate with someone else telling him what players to buy etc, and would be given a free hand to buy whom he saw fit. So what’s happened in the htree years since or have got my wires crossed somewhere?

        • SpurredoninDublin says:

I wasn’t aware MON was offered the job.
