Lachanorizo

Good morning all.

Roll on Sunday and the opportunity to watch a football match. Yes, a point in the bag, good to give the kids a run out and all that but it was horrible viewing and I don’t believe I’ll bother watching any more of this pap.

On a practical note it will be interesting to take a peek at ticket sales for home fixtures for games featuring such weakened teams sheets. I would imagine that Levy & Co will be all over Arry on this and it may be a good juncture to run the tape showing fans fleeing the Lane during the course of the second half of the Hearts match.

I will of course be blasted for suggesting this with such illuminating arguments as ‘we woz 5-0 up’ ‘good to see the kids play’ but I wonder (with the notable exception of clowns such as ‘Proper Fan’ who soon naffed off when reminded that the game was included in his Season Ticket…) how many of the poor bar stewards contemplating reaching into their already recession hit pockets will bother.

Maybe I’m out of touch. Maybe I’m not a true fan. Maybe watching children play chase ball is the future. I have never tried Lachanorizo –  Cabbage with rice – but my guess is it’s a truly dull dish.

As long as they price it reasonably, I find it refreshing to see the youngsters get a run out!!!
However, that Hearts game was as enjoyable as a visit to the dentist!!! which incidently, you also have to pay for!!!!

Yer cabbage/rice combo is all in the seasoning.

‘arry won’t play a team quite as young as last night’s once he has a couple of more aged bodies back for selection.

Having said that, if not even ITV4 can be arsed, why should any sane Spurs fan?

Channel 5 has the first rights. That’s why they’ll be bringing us Tottenham Hotspur vs Shamrock Rovers in two weeks’ time. :ermm:

I believe ESPN gets 2nd pick, and ITV gets 3rd pick, ESPN gets 4th pick, then ITV gets fifth pick.

So less about ITV4 not being bothered, and more cos they are down the pecking order.

I went to the Hearts game as it was part of the season ticket and I was wondering while I was there just how many would have turned up if they’d had to pay. The next Europa match is also included but after that we will see.

I think you may be missing the point H, I believe Harry was prepared to lose this match and still be able to qualify for the next round by winning at home by a greater margin (Shamrock Rovers are unlikely to get a point so we need to come second out of 3). It doesn’t matter if we’re first or second as even with a half strength team we should be strong enough to beat most teams in the knock-out stages. (Bearing in mind this was virtually a THIRD team!) The main focus is on beating Liverpool Sunday, and that possibility has been increased greatly by the fact that the first team haven’t been exposed to injury or tiredness.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

Mmmn. But won’t everyone beat Rovers home and away?

      • mike pinner says:

yes, so providing we beat the other two at home, they’ve still got to play each other, so we can afford to lose at least one game (rubin away?)

Last night’s selection was born out of necessity nothing more. We’ve injuries to key players in key area’s so it made perfect sense to field that specific team. Come Sunday, we’ll have a fresher, fitter first team out there, one that would’ve been rested and primed (hopefully) to give Liverpool a game.No problem whatsoever on my part with the selection or the result.
