Ultras At The Lane

Gooda mornin’.

A special welcome to any Rover fans who might be dropping by in the next 24 hours. We trust you enjoy your stay and manage to resist the urge to hospitalize yourselves on our half price beer.

Word from Arry Redschnapps is that this side will contain [and I quote] “seven or eight Internationals.” Well Arry if you can be bothered then what the heck, so can I. See you on Channel 5 my old son.

So there is a distinct possibility of a football match breaking out this time around? We’ll have to wait and see. Super Roman Crazypavinchenko is likely to run out again and hopefully an Azza Blud/Krankie combo will dramatically improve his game.

He’s taken a few volleys of abuse of late. I’m convinced he’s a quality striker. That said I’m increasingly convinced he’s at the wrong club and perhaps in the wrong League. He’s not getting either the breaks or the time and if he scores 3 tonight it’ll be the old, …it was only against…

Dos Santos is another likely starter and given his sensational cameos in the Copa America, if he does naff all again his problem is straightforwardly Arry. A few booze hound tales and a snap of him collapsed in the Daily Mail and who wouldn’t believe he was a waster? But his performances  in the Summer were frequently breathtaking.

I’m Carlos Tevez and answering the iron was my idea.

in all seriousness – should I go tonight?

I don’t particularly want to watch a 0-0 with the kids unfold, then have to sit on the 34 going round the north circ for an hour to get home at 11pm.

Someone tell me it’ll be worth the hassle please!

Sorry, have given up on Pav every time i see him he gets Fookin worse, at this moment if Adebayor gets injured forth place will seam a million miles away. We must address the Pav issue in Januarysell him for whatever we can get and bring in a top striker, my choice Leandro, if we do that we will get Champions League and be the team to beat, maybe even a chance at the title !!!!!!

  • Dorset Spur says:

People moan about the kids playing, but my main concern have been the quitters like Pav, GDS and Gomes who should be fighting for the first team places and not just turning up and not bothering. I would like to be proven wrong.

      “quitters […] like Gomes”

Has he let in a goal this season when given the chance? I don’t think so.

The other two definitely do need to shape up or ship out, sharpish.

Not sure GDS on his Copa form could be described as a quitter, old girl. There is a THFC issue at work there. We blocked his move out.. I think :-|

        • Phil McAvity says:

If the figures being banded around are anywhere near correct then I would have blocked his move too if I was Levy.

Agree, Phil. I’ve ‘ad enough of Sevilla taking our players for a pittance and demanding 8 figures for any of theirs.

        • LosLorenzo says:

Quitters was not my word. And they have both shown they can be class. They just haven’t shown it very much. For us. Recently.

GDS seems to have the inverse problem of quite a few England “stars” (great when they get paid, pants with three lions on their shirt). Maybe Lamps and Johnny Two Saints need to workshop their ailments?

Does a lovely hands on hips ala Louie Spence though!

Or, as any politician would say…our policies aren’t wrong – we just need to present them more effectively.
Come on Harry old chap – when are you going to admit he’s not up to the PL, Carling Cup, (or indeed the Europa) based on what we’ve seen this term, and a goodly number of times last year.
I went to see Basingstoke in the Conference south a few weeks ago – they could do with a striker. Is this the level you were talking about?
