Over The Moons 2 Sick Parrots 2

Good evening.

I am tempted to recall the Hannibal Lecter line, ‘but you may lack perspective’ in relation to today’s fare. The first ten or so minutes were pretty good. Van der Vaart was chucking weight about and it was clear the Bar Codistas were set up every bit like a side that that had been on an awfully good run.

But this isn’t to say I believe this draw reflect the natural order of things nor am content. But given the way we failed to cope with their formation, we came out of things none too bad.

For the bazillionth time stats ain’t my bag. Yet I think that today wasn’t a disaster on the basis that I will be interested to see damage Toon do to to the so called big boys. So far they have been upon an unprecedented run of dealing admirably with mediocre sides.

Today was their first real crack at a gang of chancers with so called pretensions of greatness. And they have to be commended for their performance. Whatever the much maligned Pardew is up to he is definitely doing something right. A predominantly so so gang of players; yet they are so far dishing it out week on week so far.

Player ratings tomorrow, but I think we can’t gripe over too much about today. Not really.

Walker is a weak link…need Charlie back. He’s great going forward yeah…but when it comes to the crunch…nah, not yet.

Don’t rate Charlie. Need to persevere with Walker – hopefully he’ll come good.

You don’t rate? you don’t know Jack!

        • eastanglianspur says:

I know Walker is a better bet than Charlie, so what does that say about your opinion? :gaehn:

I’m also in agreement with Jack who appears to know what he’s talking about, UNLIKE YOU!

In Georgian and Victorian times, people paid good money to visit asylums where they could watch the lunatics at large. Today,I have the internet and I don’t pay anything to read your insane and incoherent ramblings, if only I had the LoonyVision app, that’ll be even more entertaining.
Matron!, he’s gor out and using your PC again!

      • eastanglianspur says:

If you’re an example of sanity, being insane must be a better option. No contest

Wouldn’t know about that being sane and all!, but I guess all those years of you being institutionalised makes you the expert on mental health, you’re bound to pick up a few things, I’ll stick to football thanks “Pay them a grand a week”, bloody brilliant!

Have we ever been so ineffective on the break than the last 15 mins of today’s match

Good to see us back on top of the table, 2 points clear. That’s ‘Physio Room’, where we’ve pulled 2 injuries away from our nearest pursuers. And with Ledley yet to be added, make that 3. I was getting worried the other day when we sat in mid-table.
Defence for Thursday: Bassong, Rose, er…

Ade should be taking his own penalties.

Ade + Defoe for Blackburn with VDV supersub.

Kylie needs some more coaching – good prospect but not good enough at RB today.

13 points from last 15 possible is title winning form.

      @essexian76 –
Well today Ade/JD >>>> Ade/VDV was v clear to me.
Not just that but also the team play was better once Defoe arrived. Rafa may be the better player but JD benefited the team more today.
Agree we didn’t learn much new today though. We was always going to drop some points somewhere. But if we get back to winning ways next new few games then one game don’t really matter.

I think many get confused between good players and good team players, and there’s a massive difference. Defoe has been a different animal since Ades arrival and they’re constantly looking for each other to make the runs and at pace. but I’ll let the JD haters do their thing and reflect on the fact that Defoe doing his thing and doing it quite well.No doubt I’ll be accused of loving him big time and wanting his children, bore, bore, yawn, yawn etc.

      • Alspur says:

That’s a tough call: JD came on when the game was stretched and he could run at defenders…

VDV put in the hard yards in the first half when the midfield was a battlefield & we needed him and Modric to team up with Livermore & Parker and win the battle…

I like the idea of a 4-4-1-1 / 4-5-1 for the first 70-75 minutes when we’re playing away… wouldn’t necessarily play that way at home, mind…
