A Quick Chat With Pat Jennings

Here’s a brief chat I had with Pat Jennings this afternoon.

As you may spot the route in to the chat was the McDonalds Grassroots Coaching. But Pat was happy to also talk about Friedel, Gomes and the win against Aston Villa. Triffic.

·         McDonald’s proudly supports football in Britain’s communities, providing more opportunities for anyone to volunteer and qualify as community coaches plus increasing access to free qualified coaching for youngsters everywhere.

·         Over the next four years, McDonald’s will continue its work with The FA which aims to help coaches play an even greater role in their local communities through the FA Charter Standard League programme to ultimately improve standards at grassroots level.

·         As The FA’s Community Partner since 2002, McDonald’s has helped to create more football for all by training and recruiting over 20,000 qualified football coaches and offering 2 million hours of free, quality football to young players across the UK.

·         The partnership will also support 400,000 volunteers, 6,000 grassroots clubs and create a total of 30,000 qualified coaches by 2014. For more information, visit mcdonalds.co.uk/football

Did you know that the entire starting 11 who played for Spurs last night cost a combined 48m – 2m less then Torres. Great stat I spotted in a blog somewhere.

My chelski mate (yup, I’ve got a mate) reckons we should enjoy it while we can before the blues up their bid for our midfield and ‘Arry buggers off to Ingerland. He thinks O’Neil will be in charge next. Gulp!

Looks like our season is really going to be ruined now. Our best chance of winning something, the Europa League, and it looks like Shiity will be joining us in the round of 32.

Don’t you just love it! :-p :daumen:

Flippin’ heck, I hadn’t even thought of that through all the giggling at City’s bambi on ice impression in Europe…

…strange, cos yesterday they were as good as Barcelona, but today they’re not as good as Napoli… hmmmm… ;)

The hard work that the Manchester clubs are making of the CL group stages puts our triffic effort last season into perspective. Our first season in the CL and we win our Group which was at least as tough if not tougher than that which Manure are in this season and arguably about the same as that which ManCity are in . Not only that but as usual we WENT for it and actually transformed the Group stages from what is a basically drab affair to something exciting. That is the Spurs way, it always has been and always will be. Whatever else happens with Spurs it is always exciting, entertaining and worth watching .
It is all about the glory. This Spurs side need and deserve to be in the CL again next season and the competition will benefit from our presence. COYS !!!!!

Looking at the finances announced last week, the figure that stood out a mile for me, was not Shitty’s £194 mill loss, but the fact that even with a new modern and larger stadium than ours, their turnover is smaller than us.

We all know that they are going to try to cook the books to get around FFPR, but even so, I think that there will have to be some pretty stiff rises in ticket prices to meet FFPR, in a stadium that they cannot fill at the moment. Of course the higher the prices, the harder it is to fill the ground.

I am wondering how grateful those Mancs will be to Mansour when they can no longer afford to watch their team live. On the other hand, they may well become like Manure, where 90% of their fans have never set foot in Wankchester, never mind having seen their beloved teams play.
