Good lunch?

Mine was alright. And that’s me boasting about it. Meh.

On an upbeat note I’ve cold chicken legs (leave it) and chips for my banquet de le soir.

This might work this time. If it does not, unaccustomed to violence as I am someone’s gonna join me in becoming very accustomed very naffin’ soon. How difficult can it be?

    Bond & Jordan Out!

    Harry In!…….back in! (again).

Would never like to disturb another man’s ‘banquet de le soir’, but is there any chance of players ratings for this spectacle H-H?

Or do you think you may be gnawing on those cold chicken legs for a little while longer yet?

I thought we played very well until Bassong pulled our pants down. Pav was his usual rubbish. If he was in the shop window it must have been Oxfam Tower Hamlets.
I think I switched off when Defoe and Bassong started kissing and cuddling and giggling like girls when Big Bill, (our MOM surely), went off injured. If they cant take it seriously why should we?
Carrol was very good and will be quality soon.
    Apart from that MEH!!

Carroll very good? Sorry but no. He never has any sort of influence on a game, playing a lot of 10 yard passes and keeping possession is something ANY professional should be able to do.

Our youngsters in reality have no chance of breaking into our first team, even with the likes of Pav and Bassong around. Kane is more of a donkey than Pav, what an achievement.

Carroll is an outstanding young player who is always in space, never loses possession and can create chances, his through ball for the disallowed Defoe effort was Modric esq…are you mental?

        • Hartley says:

Palacios couldn’t keep possession, neither could J***s…..I agree with regards to Kane though, non leaguer all day long…

Not that there’s any likelihood of it happening soon, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how Carroll acquits himself with a better class of player around him. Eighteen months ago I thought Townsend looked looked most likely to make the breakthrough, but he appears to have hit something of a glass ceiling. Still, it’s early days for him and all the other youngsters out there tonight. Let’s not forget that we were up against a full-strength outfit who, until this year, were playing Champions League football.

The most disappointing aspect about tonight’s performance, for me at least, was the non-appearance of our so-called first teamers out there. Pienaar, Pavlyuchenko and Bassong were all particularly poor. Indeed, had it not been for another Bassong howler we’d have come away with a very credible point. Both he and Pavlyuchenko need to be moved on in January. Of the experienced guard only Cudiccini came away with any credit (and then some).

To summarise, it’s way too early to dismiss Harry Kane — but Carroll is a star in the making, of that I have no doubt. The boy oozes class, and those that can’t see this simply aren’t looking hard enough.

No-one can convince me otherwise with regards to Carroll as of yet. He hasn’t shown anything outstanding at all.

He was sitting on the Orient bench for a lot of his time there and there is no way he has improved that much.

Compare him to someone of the same age and description in the pikey scum that is Wilshere. He will pick up the ball deep and drive at a defence and play killer balls. Carroll is too bread and butter 10 yard passing. I’m not expecting EVERY contribution to be amazing but he doesn’t do enough to influence games.

I’m not totally writing the kid off so early on, but far too much is being expected. Kane is a lost cause. No arguments.

The player that I thought would be quality when I saw him a few years back was Bostock. Look what happened there.

        • PLN says:

Carrol is useless, the fact that he is small like modric and can make a 5 yard sideways pass does not make him a good player. I bet the people that rate him also rated Dean Marney.

Things i learned. Both full backs looked inept. Bassong looks like a skittish horse. Gallas was the only defender. Tom looks good in a few years. South africans like shouting at young full backs, classy way to get the team playing…Livermore is getting i’ve made it syndrome. falque did ok, by ok i mean he looked up for it. defoe ran about a lot, cause that was all he could do. Pav is the tin man.

pav loked like circus man stretched out on the deck after not connecting with the ball in front of open goal.didnt see the tongue hanging out though
