A Walloping On The Cards

Good morning.

We’re on a run of league form that the most informed critics are describing  as third best in the Premiership. Bolton by contrast have been bobbing about doing very little right.

Owen Coyle was if you recall correctly being tipped for greatness at one point. He was also being lined up by some as Aunty Wenger’s successor. So what went wrong? Well the Trotters can’t pin their dismal form on the whole ‘will she won’t she’ cloud hanging over Cahill’s head, that’s for sure.

Cahill’s alright but he’s no world beater. Another competent so overpriced Englishman. He’s not their David Silva nor their Luka Modric. No, Coyle’s been found out as a very average manager with a few almost half good players who lack not only real talent but the brains God gave them. If they can pull it off, they should flog Cahill for whatever the market will stand and

A singular word of caution on the Trotters is that whilst they have only won 3 games they hammered those that they beat. Could they hammer us? My conservative guess would be ‘not bloody likely.’

The team sheet should hold no surprises. Brad, King, PNB, Modders, Bale, Manu and anyone else who fancies it.

The The will be full of Client Reference numbers expecting to be entertained. Tottingham have yet to wallop anyone themselves this season apart from Liverpool and one can’t help but feel this is a golden opportunity to deliver a walloping.

Prediction 5-1.

Put your house on a 3-1 home win.

It seems to be the rather flattering score we win by when we struggle to beat the teams that we should absolutely muller!

Don’t be too confident. Bolton can mix it up and their backs are against the wall.

We were awful on wednesday with a strong team – hope that was a wake up call.

I would be ecstatic with 1-0.

    N

ps Rose and Livermore not good enough for this Spurs team. We should get rid.
It’s a little too soon to judge Kane fairly but didn’t do anything to help his cause either.

Hang on. Rose was just back after injury. You can’t condemn him on the basis of one game. Remember A&E when he was injured early in his Spurs career? At first, Bale was nearly sold because he wasn’t at his best following a spell out. William G. isn’t quite there yet in his second game back. Do you want to get rid of him too?

What I would say about Rose, is that I recall him having a decent game in the EL, and then announcing that he thought he should be in the starting line up. His next game was as sub, where he passed to every one but our team, was frequently beaten by the opposition, and could only stop his man with a foul.

Of all the kids that we have played in the EL, Rose has shown himself to have the most potential, but not this season.

Gallas was as ring-rusty as they come on Weds, yet Bassong appears to have taken all the flack. Rose played really well when covering for Benny at full back last term before injury, so why the urgency to write these players off? Townsend, Carroll, Rose, Fredricks et-al, are not the finished article anymore than Kane or Livermore are. Of course not all will make the highest grade but you simply can’t dismiss them just yet either! Don’t forget we’ve still got other’s out on loan as well!

Livermore was playing with the first team in 2009 as was Rose. I am not dismissing Carol, Fredricks or Townsend – Jake and Danny have 2 years on them in terms of chances at the top and honestly I havent seen anything to suggest they are top drawer potential. Rose was even slated by Bristol fans after a poor loan spell there.

We cant keep saying ‘not the finished article’ with an infinite number of chances.

They are not good enough to stand-in and you see the positional naivety and technical shortcomings a mile off.

Didn’t rate Rose as a winger, but was impressed initially when he filled in at full back in Benny’s absence. Townsend in my opinion is at best championship class and Kane simply will not make the grade, but when do you cut the ties and move them on? Phil Ifil was on our books for ages, and I think is playing non-league now as is Jamie Slabber (remember him). It’s the gamble and why with good reason our policy of buying the likes Huddlestone, Lennon and Dawson etc has paid dividends, it’s a tough call all the same

I’ll go with you Harry 5-1. I fancied a Ade hat-trick or even 4 myself. I’d also put money on GB having something on his t-shirt, scoring and getting booked. Always have to give the other mob 1 though.

    Is VDV playing?

  • Bolton will come for a point and turn it into a battle. Spurs will need to be a bit more inventive than the other night. Leave Corky and Pienaar in the stands.
However if they can get an early goal it all changes

You say we haven’t walloped anyone this season? What would you suggest we did to Liverpool?
