Good morning Chicken Badge fans.

Breaking light from yonder window? Not really. More like the dull glow of a 20w bulb. This Google translation then from Croatian media, Sportske Novosti. Chelsea fans will be buoyed by the knowledge that despite the hard ball from Levy & Co the player is essentially theirs as soon as a deal can fight it’s way through the red tape.

“All that is stated in the press I read, no other knowledge about the alleged offers I have. I do the time do not even bother. We do our best to Tottenham to get the results sought by the club and fans.

We’re strong and playful. Considering all the circumstances, primarily to the fact that I do not want to go over Golgotha ??as the summer transfer period, with almost 100-percent certainty I can say that I will stay at Tottenham until the summer.

A small percentage to go I always leave as a theoretical possibility, if the club gets such an offer for me and you can not (you) do not want to refuse. However, the reality is that the Spurs stay until June, and then it will be seen.

All options are possible, however far it is, I will not bother. I just want to be healthy and play well, everything else will go in order to go. … “

How to win friends and influence people. Looking for loyalty in footballers these days is like looking for Neil Warnock’s eyebrows.

H, don’t you think he may just be putting extra pressure on Levy to come up with a ‘super contract’!!??

My gut feeling is that he wants out. He looks at our squad and sees to many ‘nearly men’.

Well if he’s looking at Chelsea he will see too many ‘has been’ men….or maybe the view is obscured by the ££££ signs

I agree with you, and also think it’s about the money. Personally, I would offer both him and Ade performance related contracts. No Pay rises, but huge bonuses if we reach the group stage of the CL. That is virtually self financing.

Of course, it is not inconceivable that Cheatski may fail to qualify for the CL this year, in which case, the reported £140k per week that he was being offered would be tough to finance under FFPR. I think both he and Cheatski will wait to see whether they have qualified before they take that plunge.

Anyone recall those idiots who said it would be bad for football if Modric were not allowed to leave? I think what they meant was that it would be bad for the Sky 4.

I have the same gut feeling but I think you underate our squad versus other Premiership sides. I would have said his concern is principally about money.

Nevertheless if it is true at least we will have had an extra year out of him and we have time to plan a replacement. It would be a loss but not terminal as long as the price is right. His goals record for someone who plays as far up the pitch as he does is abysmal.

The real risk is what him leaving might induce Bale to do.

Has Modric been spending time with our very own Mus?
