Good morning Chicken Badge fans.

Breaking light from yonder window? Not really. More like the dull glow of a 20w bulb. This Google translation then from Croatian media, Sportske Novosti. Chelsea fans will be buoyed by the knowledge that despite the hard ball from Levy & Co the player is essentially theirs as soon as a deal can fight it’s way through the red tape.

“All that is stated in the press I read, no other knowledge about the alleged offers I have. I do the time do not even bother. We do our best to Tottenham to get the results sought by the club and fans.

We’re strong and playful. Considering all the circumstances, primarily to the fact that I do not want to go over Golgotha ??as the summer transfer period, with almost 100-percent certainty I can say that I will stay at Tottenham until the summer.

A small percentage to go I always leave as a theoretical possibility, if the club gets such an offer for me and you can not (you) do not want to refuse. However, the reality is that the Spurs stay until June, and then it will be seen.

All options are possible, however far it is, I will not bother. I just want to be healthy and play well, everything else will go in order to go. … “

How to win friends and influence people. Looking for loyalty in footballers these days is like looking for Neil Warnock’s eyebrows.

Levy did well, but it’s true what Harry said, if you rate him as £40m player, you have to pay him like one. Give him £100k a week and then we have more of a realistic chance of keeping him. I don’t care who you are or what you do, having your wages tripled will make you want to jump ship!

Agree with that but for the fact he was engineering a move to our significant detriment. Ch£l$ki put the derisory £20m on the table in the knowledge that he would cause us problems that would make it difficult for us to do anything but sell. Negotiating a deal behind your employers back that will undermine them and cost them a small fortune is not and should not be a route to a wage increase.

It also sets a precedent we’d do well to avoid. What would it say to the likes of Bale if we capitulated and either sold or suddenly paid Mod £125k per week to get his ‘head right’? I should think Levy would want him to play his way back into favour for a season to make amends before he gets a top up.

The wider fact is that it stands the reason that playing at the top end of the table naturally leads to our players being sought by those willing to pay upwards of £130k per week. Levy needs to find a way to bridge this gap whilst paying for a Stadium or the momentum we have will be lost. Not an easy balance, but if there is a man who can find a way then its DL.

Looking forward to to taking 3 points off the Swans…..

I’ve at last given up thinking of players in terms of loyalty. I also have managed to zone out all transfer speculation both in and out. It has only taken me 40 years to do this as I have, for far too long, laboured under the belief in the “old principles” of players of the past like Greavsie, Danny Boy and even more latterly Chivers etc. But my sepia tinted views of football have now become Super sharp colour HD 3D BlueRay … sadly.

I think he’ll probably leave in the Summer..So we have to start looking for a replacement NOW. Shame we dont have a £150000 a week deal to dangle in his face!!
