I watched the Wiganistas vs Manchester City last night. Having managed to tune out a mystifying/irritatingly over reverent commentary …the facts of matter where that Wigan, who had little to offer put in a commendable performance and more interestingly may have highlighted to Arry & Co what has to be done only as well as that which shouldn’t.
Above all else, Defensive discipline is vital. You build a team from the back to the front.
If you watch the way City tend to attack – and not just last night – a lot of moves stem from controlling positions in the last third. They move the ball around outside the penalty area looking to thread it in to a midget such as Aguero and or put it onto Dzeko’s nut.
Kyle Walker’s ‘tag defending’ or Forest Gump 50 yard dash impressions will sink us. He achieved naff all against Wolves and against a outfit like City being caught out of position will only result in us being punished.
If you’re paid to be a defender than defend. We have players paid to take the ball up and service our goalscorers. Let’s use them.
Let width be our watchword. On their day, Bale and Azza Blud can be two of the most outstanding players in the league. So let’s play them in position. Watching Bale play his ‘License To Roam’ card is about as thrilling and rewarding as using photographs of Piers Morgan to wallpaper your entire house.

Adabayor is our most important player bar none because of his strong hold up & unselfish link up play.He should have scored more but he has had ridiculously bad luck plus too many near misses particularly with his head.If he had played last year we would have been defo top four. We should buy Ba now to play along side him for the run in.
However.City are missing their most important player Y Toure who provides the drive,energy & important goals.
The mercurial wizard Silva will not be so effective with the pedestrian Barry & Milner next to him.
The overrated Modric will have to raise his game …something he rarely does when we need it most …. is there a worse finisher in the league now that Freund & Zokora have gone.
Kompany will be missed by them but we have the accident waiting to happen Daws back. I love his spirit,attitude & whole heartedness but he is not the same player if Led isn’t playing.
Kabul has been immense at times & should always get the nod over Daws if everyone is fit but how do you drop your captain.
Parker needs to get back to basics & give the ball much earlier to our flair players instead of running up his own arse too often
We can win this although it will be much harder without Ade …look at our first two games.
Lets hope JD makes the most of this rare opportunity & Pav needs to put it in if called upon.
If Bale,azza,Modric & V.d.V are on their game & the back four are disciplined we should put increasing pressure on City until they crack.Liverpool showed last week how much City miss their best players… we need to take advantage NOW!
