Hello young lovers.

Well yesterday’s blog was fun wasn’t it? Well only another seven days to go until the Manchester City game so best I use the time wisely and rehearse lots and lots of ever so glowing and grateful rhetoric to scatter gently into my appraisal.

Arry was in France today. Specifically to watch Loic Remy. He told Radio 5Live this earlier today. Redschnapps  has personally scouted him before. That was two years ago. Since then Aitch revealed that THFC have had a few people watch him. On and off.

Will this happen? Well every window, up pops a name, a supposed Tottingham target that is used as merely a bargaining chip to up the ante whilst genuine negotiations tick along nicely in the background.

Would Remy be a good thing if we signed him? Probably. But let’s be intelligent people and focus upon what we know. Flogging Defoe isn’t on the agenda. Pav’s departure is beset by all the usual Cagney death scene financial issues. The Daily Mail have Loric’s worth at £20m. My valuation having scoured a little further is closer to £13m, possibly £15m. Now who says I’m not cut from Levy & Co cloth?

Potentially far more exciting news is the possibility we’re interested in the Newcastle United goalie, Tim Krul. Sure it’s a resurfacing rumour but let’s hope it has legs. He’s without doubt well worth pursuing and having Brad involved in training and mentoring is such an obvious winning combination.

We need a Top Top Keeper for sure.

For the immediate we don’t need a goalie. Krul needs a longer assessment period; he hasn’t looked quite so spectacular of late. Gomes looked the dogs bollocks when he was scouted. Then he just looked bollocks.

For now we need a striker and Remy looks worth a punt. Quite young and likely to be relatively easy to offload if it all goes tits up, he is a low risk buy.

Remy scored both tonight and looked o.k, pretty quick with a good awareness. Would have thought about £15m would be about right, however it may go up after the Euros

My guess is we won’t ge Krul before the summer and we will definitely buy a central defender.

    Hallo Chris Samba

If we need a new striker in this window, why is one who’s scored 11 goals constantly left on the bench? Like it or not we’ve got to get shot of Pav before any deal happen. Obviously there’s the financial side to consider and also the squad limitations. But we could have had Maradonna or Jimmy Greaves playing yesterday and they would’ve struggled, because it was our midfield that were the main problem. I watched Remy in the games V Arsenal recently, and wasn’t overly impressed and his goal return isn’t all that either-any better than Defoe? not in my opinion-any better than Pav? Meh!

That’s because Sisqo can’t play the lone striker role, can’t hold up the ball, and usually postions himself like they do at my 9 yo nephew’s league :-)

And Remy offers what exactly, other than a 20m risk?Defoe and Ade in partnership were far more effective, than the current line-up. We need to look at what we have before what could be, like a centre half with a brain for starters!
