Get Your Middle Class ITK Here

Hallo.

What news from yonder window breaks? Well not too much. Sufficient for the day thereof as they say…

I’ve always loved the idea of a middle class ITK. Not for any pretentious value I swear; rather for someone to rock the ITK mic who spoke didn’t spew out riddles and other self indulgent algorithms.

The current relationship between Levy & Co. and the Spazmeister General that is our current manager has then today been described as, ‘perfunctory‘.

… This female source tells me, “Oh by all means, let them know I’m a bird, Harry!”  that the exchanges between the two have become hard work largely as Arry is taking every contact as a potential threat.

There are of course exchanges but at best they can be described as perfunctory. Harry feels and doesn’t hesitate to say …that he’s due a break after a successful season and others are shall we say… doing very well indeed to remain speechless.

Arry knows that he’s screwed up and whilst the press might enjoy his company… THFC are all too well aware they have been left high and dry both in financial terms and indeed in the transfer market arena by the repercussions of Arry being ‘distracted’ by the England job that he was never ever actually in the running for.

Those still whining on about our best season witnessed by anyone under the age of 97 might want to consider if their footballing priority is Tottenham or something more sinister they may might to share with the group.

4th sounded great at the beginning of the season, but now amounts to being worth less than nothing.  Lets hope that the situation deteriorates further and the Board can ship in a professional.

yes great idea mr hotshot lets get rid of our best manager since the prem started and get in god knows who, any ideas on that one? oh and lets not forget the exodus of players that will follow……. ok we might lose modric and possibly bale but if harry goes then so will vdv, parker, sandro, walker etc, yeh great idea you muppet lets make our stable ship unstable!! i’m sure you are a gooner in disguise!

You forgot to say 2 points from 8, apart from that I thought your argument was tip top… :daumen:

    • Jamie says:

We already are unstable by virtue of the fact that Harry has one year left on his contract. It’s not a tenable position to run a team, and the speculation juggernaught about his future will just start all over again.
Your argument about losing HR loyalists in the squad is a good point, though to what extent we don’t know and would depend largely on the calibre of who we bring in. It’s a risk.
As for HR being the best manager in our history, that’s relative to the quality of players and managers we’ve had. What might Venables in his pomp accomplished with this lot I wonder?
So either we make a change or we have to offer him a new contract. One or the other. We can’t let the uncertainty run on AGAIN.
If we could get someone better, and it’s a big if – Redknapp has burned his loyalty with the club and most if it’s fans with his self serving twaddle, and utter abandonment of his duties on the home straight.
I can’t abide offering him a new contract. He doesn’t deserve it and I don’t trust him. I’m sure Levy is considering his options.

I don’t worry that the players will be so affronted if Redknapp his given the push that they will want to leave, but I do think it is a concern that this may give them an excuse of some kind should they harbour any anti-chicken badge sentiment.

Given that Redknapp manages by dividing his squad into favourites and then ‘everyone else’, I think those who might be considered loyalists would be Modric, Bale, VDV, Adebayor, Parker. Seeing as how Redknapp spent most of last Summer trying to flog Modric to Chelsea I don’t really see how them being loyal would play much part. The buck stops with Levy and if he wants to dig his heels in then that’s that.

levy has now got a 35 million hole in next season’s budget and a much larger payroll to fund

somethings got to give, we’ll either see joe lewis change his entire business strategy or we’ll sell players, what do you think is more likely?

‘arry will use the sale of players as an excuse to bale out IMO

        • LLL says:

I don’t really think there’s a 35m hole as we don’t operate on a CL budget, or at least we aren’t reliant on making the CL.

Think it’s quite likely there will be some sales – mostly fringe players and Bentley, Jenas etc if anyone takes them. Modric may get his wish to fly the chicken coup this Summer but if that happens I expect some significant signings to counter and also can’t see that Levy would sanction Bale and Modric leaving in one Summer, just can’t see that.

As for Redknapp needing an excuse to bale – give him one if that’s what it will take. He already has a pretty good excuse actually – he has just 1 year left on his contract and there doesn’t seem to be a new one on the table. If any half-decent opportunity crops up then he could easily take it up. But who half-decent would really want him? Sadly, the story about Chelsea was in the Mail… :gaehn:

our payroll costs have increased dramatically in the last three years so obviously we’ve upped our ante in terms of wages & squad size

‘arry has been told to sell in order to buy for nearly 3 years now by levy, the problem is no one wants our over priced deadwood

we’re at a crossroads now both on & off the pitch, raising finance for a major risky project like the NLDP will be problematic whilst we now have a manager who has split the fan base down the middle – some say time for change, others say let him carry on.

I heard recently that both sets of spurs fans were at each others throats at wembley ffs?

  • nobby nobbs says:

If Redknapp has that much power we should bim him, He can walk out of whl like the pied piper anytime.

  • jfdit says:

It’s not surprising levy & ‘arry are at loggerheads still, levy tried to shut him up with his media scattergun mouth last summer and ‘arry told him or the member of staff delegated to inform him to do one allegedly?

very frosty working relationship as evidenced by our lack of transfer activity since the initial spend to avoid relegation

l think levy doesn’t trust his judgement on players since most of the signings he’s made have lost the club a lot of money which won’t sit well with a chairman whose business strategy has been buy low sell high.

  • I wonder if Harry really screwed up. Maybe nothing really changed at the end. After all the end was very much like the beginning.Ominous.
I have a cat and a dog.I think they are clever.I give them names and I project onto them things that they never will understand even though I give them responsibility for it.
You can only screw up when you understand what happened.
When Harry put on Parker for VDV when we needed the win (Parker is a great tackler and gives 100% but can barely pass and cant shoot, well not as good as Freidel might) We understood that Harry really doesn’t understand.
Before that it was all circumstantial evidence but the Parker sub was the smoking gun.
So screw up doesnt apply to my cat and dog and certainly not to Harry.

You don’t think heart surgery, a witch hunt/court case and FA allowing him to think he has the england job (which he has never denied wanting) all within the space of a few months miiiiight just have had a little something to do with a dip in form?
