Cliff Barnes Wants Dynasty Role

Good morning.

I read this piece in this morning’s Sun and couldn’t help but come to the certain conclusion it was written by Redschnapps himself.

HARRY REDKNAPP wants three more years to build a Champions League dynasty at Tottenham.

Boss Redknapp has held contract talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this week, with senior players fearing he could leave.

Yes, I can imagine Bale is terrified Arry would be replaced by someone who tells him to his face he’s winger.

Redknapp, 65, has only one year left on his deal but remains committed to the club despite the heartache of missing out on the Champions League even though he led the team to fourth place this season

Loss of 12 point advantage glossed over; believing he had the England job not mentioned.

In spite of heart surgery in February and a gruelling court case he wants to continue his job of transforming Spurs into regular Champions League contenders.

Hilarious. Health card played; disbelief suspended that he’s got the either the balls or the brains to land Champions League again.

Redknapp is 65. Three more years would take him to 68 when he may decide to call it a day, having insisted when he took over that this would be his last job in football.

Thanks for the maths. Or is this supposed to appeal to our sense of charity?

Levy and Redknapp also discussed their plans for the transfer market this summer with a new defender on the radar after Ledley King was told yesterday he is free to leave the club

I do hope nobody’s implying Arry’s had any involvement in the Vertonghen deal.

The fact that the lame brain who ghost wrote this uses the word dynasty in relation to Redschnapps is surreal. I made sausages for breakfast yesterday. I might have cereal this morning. Is that a dynasty of breakfasting?

Speaking of soap operas, Vertonghen appears to have confused SSN and a staggering percentage of Spurs fans by announcing in a video interview that he is  close to joining Tottenham. Here.

Up until that presser it was only thought he was close to joining Tottenham. But having now watched the footage it’s clear he’s now actually close to joining Tottenham.

Forget the Jubilee, we’re having a street party to celebrate being retarded!

I could weep. Has anyone got Ian Dowie’s number?

I see the dog terry has convinced woy that the way to win games is the cheatski way. Park the bus and score on the break, his told you so handshake with woy at the end said it all.
So he’s still in charge then?

    i’m bored…….

  • Vertonghen looks like he has a strong mind. Thats refreshing for our defence.
Hope he comes to the lane.

Harry believes in the corporate rules of accountability…..

    1) Never make a mistake
    2) Never admit to making a mistake
    3) Never take responsibility for the mistake you never admitted making

What I am now having trouble with, even with Lambert and Rodgers gone, who is out there that would bleed lillywhite?

Forget Klinnsman, he has his dream job coaching the US National team and living in sunny California…..

Say what you will about Jol and Newcastle, at the time the
board was dominated by Kelmsly who was not a Jol fan and handled the behind the back Ramos negotiations.

Capello? Just wants to prove his point to the FA that he was right. AVB? This would just be a stepping stone to restore a reputation before heading to Spain…

Open to ideas but my candidates are Didier Deschamps who ticks all the boxes on Premier league and champions league expierience….

From those who bleed lillywhite, Chris Houghton has done nothing but win with shit. Hell did as well in the ropy league as we did.

My dark horse? Gus Poyet is Spurs through and through, done very well with limited resources on the beach, he’s assisted by another who would run through the wall for us Trabiezzi (spelling), and guess what, they play the game the right way….

    Thoughts?????

I think the problem is not so much being able to win with limited resources; Rodgers, Lambert, Moyes, Big Sam, Jol and Redknapp all have managed to keep teams up that looked doomed, as it is to be able to manage “at the top”.

Look at what Wenger did to bring the Goons back from the dead, whilst we looked around aimlessly from 3rd place wondering what the hell it was we were supposed to do next now that we’d got there!

The job is different, its not a seige mentality. Whatever all alse is said ‘arry got us to 4th from 3rd – but he did get us to 3rd in the first place; he just didn’t know how to keep it.

Most of the people we’re hearing about or being linked with are people who can take us from 2 points from 8 games to the top of the also rans pile. What we need now is someone who can take us from the there to genuinely compete at the top.

        Nice theory,any idea’s?

        • Finn says:

The first idea is to stop talking about putting inexperienced journeymen managers in who’s experience of “being” at the top is non existent. The nouse to get a team to operate together to get to mid table safety by March is not the skillset we need, so advocating people who cannot do this is rather pointless.

If that premise can be accepted, then the call is about who can take over from HR and do a better job of staying at the top. That is why its highly unlikely that he’ll be sacked becasue he’s done more than all the great suggestions listed over the past 3-4 weeks have accomplished together.

He is not someone I trust, he is not a Spurs man: he’s a Harry Redkapp man. But until we can get a viable alternative whose resume includes maintaining a consistently high level of results and performance, we are stuck with him. However, we could be in a far worse position.

The ideas I think Daniel Levy had or might have had were pretty well scuppered by the FA and don’t forget the players…HR wasn’t the only one with his eye off the ball.

All I ask is reasonable suggestions, a bit better than “well look what he did with a pigs ear”.

  • Xildnparadise says:

PS…. Never liked Sherwood when he was with us and still don’t….. Another one that would always believe the grass is greener at the first opportunity. I would swallow Clive or Pleat version 12.5 before Timmy…. Least I know how and what they bleed…..
