Good afternoon.

This from long time HH reader Bill and well worth publishing.

Dear Sir,

We wake the other morning to the news that for us, Tottenham Hotspur, the Premiership Title is no-longer a just a fanciful dream or the domain of those with the budget to take seriously.  This should now become our target and with increased commitment and resources winning it will soon become our main objective.

It’s difficult to judge this news, as it has been reported from half of those on the outside looking in that we are in hell at the moment.  We had the sh*t kicked out of us at the end of last season by anyone with a properly prepared team.  We lost our place in the Champions League and we finished with a squad of players who barely the resembled the same team that were put out six months earlier.

There is no momentum to ride off from the tail end of the campaign.  So if you are going to lead us back into the light, then you need to do so from a standing start. This has got to happen on the training field, in the dressing room and in the minds of the players.

I believe that it can be done and from what I have seen and heard so far I believe that you can do it.  But now you have to convince the players.

Train them or trade them.  Now is the time.  Do not flinch from doing what it takes.

Unlike the other lot; we want you to weed out the individual who puts their own ambition above that of the club.  We encourage you change the mind set. We understand the merits of a new approach.  And we are prepared to see this thing through.

AVB this is our club.  We give it you in good faith – return it to us as Champions.

Good luck, you’ll need it.

Kind Regards,

Bill Shears

If we have lots of new cold hard cash I suppose some players may get second chances.
But with Bentley and Jenas surely they are done.
No matter how wealthy you are if a person repeatedly takes the piss out of you you dispose of them.
    Bill Shears Alpaca..hence the hedge..

As far as J**** is concerned, I don’t see what he has to offer at his best, that several of our squad don’t do as an everyday event.

As for Bentley, I don’t think he will ever be half the player that Lennon is, but if he came back to his best, he would be decent cover for Azza.

BTW, anybody noticed that we have with Walker, Bale, Parker and Vertigo, four POTY’s in our squad who would all make the first team?

  • Moutinho looks like a similar player to Modric and prob is not worth that kind of money or anywhere near it but there are two factors. One is that creative midfielders are a premium and second is AVB’s relationship with him (that means he will give 100% for AVB)
I think we need a striker.Adrian may be in our price range for one if we buy Moutinho. If we didnt buy Moutinho maybe we could up the ante on a striker. We have many supply players

I’m wondering (if we’re going to push for the title this year) where all the goals will come from. The midfield didn’t score enough last year and Moutinho is not a goal scorer by any stretch.

Rangers in the Scottish 3rd Division. How the mighty have fallen – feel bad for their loyal support, but think it’s justified.

Maybe they should just relegate Celtic as well for shits and giggles. Scottish football is a mess with no real talent or, er point. Wales create better players now. Scotland always produced great talent who could walk into any team in the world, now they do not sir. Hanson, Dalglish, Law, Souness, Krankies..

  • Spurs 37001 says:

Yes Stupot, it’s strange that the number of top Scots players started to diminished once the referees turned professional and the glasweigan kiss became a sending off offence.
