Personal Terms Agreed Say French & Italian Media

Good morning.

This might be another ‘Vertonghen’ by the looks of it.

Which is to say that it’s all over bar the fine tuning of the fee. It is important to remember that football player transfers these days are highly complex beasts. And buying or selling with Spurs is not dissimilar to arranging a hire purchase deal on a second hand washing machine.

Lyon goalie Hugo Loris is supposedly happy to get measured up for a Lilywhite shirt with L’Equipe among others suggesting a fee around about the €20m mark.

This would be a super duper addition as the brave new world that the boy Boas is building will almost certainly run what they call in the trade a high line and quite frankly, for all his plus points I’ve seen nippier static caravans than the Bradster.

It’s a he’ll of a fee for a keeper, hope he’s as good as expected. If Gomes can learn from him it might bring him on, or Brad could teach. Strikers next please.

If true, it is a lot of cash for a keeper and where is the money coming from ?
Maybe there are legs to the oil money investment story.
Also rumours suggesting Ade is about to sign on a permanent deal.
At this rate the transfer window will be more exciting than the season!

We can only hope the season lives up to all of this. I can’t wait!!

    • Bruxie says:

I don’t think we have to worry about where the money is coming from.

      We have Levy for that!

      And he ain’t Peter Ridsdale.

      :face:

Even without investment – we are about £40m up on the last 2 years of player trading – even though our wage bill has gone up, CL covered that.
Sigurdsson / Vertonghen have cost us £6.5m net of sales (and people deride our chairman?). We like to keep it close to our chest but we’re in good shape.
Plus we’ll also able to budget on 12 months time, TV money is almost doubled. The whole league has just got richer (though the whole market for wages will inevitably rise also).

Since when do players turn their backs on interest from Arsenal and Liverpool to come to Spurs? What a wonderful dream this is ;)

Never known a transfer season like it for Spurs. Don’t want to sound off too early, but we could be talking about some kind of a trophy this season, at this rate.

  • Woodsy says:

Does anyone know if he’s actually any good? This seems expensive unless Lloris is top quality. I thought Ben Foster would’ve been a decent signing for not too much money…

    • superspurs says:

Foster is shite… is a nearly was man and not the type of Keeper we need to be pushing on for a top 4 finish or better year in year out.

No shock to see West Brom are the only team interested in him

    • MarseilleYid says:

A top, top keeper. The sort of keeper perennial CL teams have :-)

    • Bruxie says:

Has been very highly rated for a few years.

France captain and worth every penny.

    • Yido123 says:

Nooooo, Redknapp has left the building

    • D Doc says:

Lloris is probably the best shot stopper in the world & immense in 1 on 1’s but when it comes to crosses he’s another gomes a complete nut job

My son’s an elite junior keeper and is obsessed with anything to do with elite keepers. He rates lloris as #3 in the world. Best in the epl, ahead of heart.

    • Royalspur says:

Foster is well dodgy and if he was any good we would now be looking forward to CL next season as all 3 of the goners goals on the last day of the season were highly suspect, I,m surprised it caused so little controversy
