Sherwood: Villas-Boas Will Give Harry Kane First Team Chance

Good morning.

Harry Kane scored nine goals for Milwall last year.

Good news – I think – is that Timothy Sherwood has told NewsAtDen.com that Kane is in André Villas-Boas’ plans.

“We don’t think there’s any value in loaning Harry out to the Championship again. He’s ticked that box.

“He may need a few more games if he’s not in the frame at Tottenham, but he’s going to be given every opportunity to prove himself to the new manager. If the manager decides he’s not ready, that would be the only time we would consider loaning him out.

“But as we stand, we’re not looking to loan him.”

 “I know Kenny Jackett because we played together at Watford, so there’s a connection there. Millwall is a good move for our young boys because it gives them experience and it’s local.

“Sometimes it works out, as with Kane, but sometimes it doesn’t, as with Mason.

“I will sit down with the new manager and talk in more depth about his philosophy on loaning younger players.

“We don’t really learn anything from sending players to the Championship for a second time.”

    Well, I haven’t seen them before and really pleased he will get a chance, think I,d be inclined to take a punt on Carroll at 10 or less cos ade really is taking the michael

      He wouldn’t be available for less than 10. All in I think the Spam were looking at closer to 20 for the loan fee plus future permanent fee.

      But yeah, I really hope they have other irons in the fire for if (or when) Ade falls through.

    I Think Kane shows potential, but is a bit raw judging by recent friendlies in the US – in relation to this, Carol and Townsend are technically more advanced, and should prove excellent squad players this season COYS

    back up at best not quite ready to be a consistant starter. If the ade deal falls through i reckon we should splash out for lewdowski or leondro there both young and both realistic targets and i reckon we should hurry up and do it

    I don’t see this as good news at all. He simply isn’t good enough I’m afraid, I’d much rather if we were to give a young ST a chance it be Coulibaly. Looks a real raw talent with an eye for goal. Kane should be sold to get in a little extra funds to be put on 1st team players not squad players

      In other words, write him off at 19.

      Dear oh dear.

      I saw a fair bit of Kane when he was turning out for the youth team a couple of years ago and he was head and shoulders above that level. He just needs time to adjust to the professional level and he will be some player. Fortunately we have the likes of Sherwood and Villas-Boas overseeing his development.

    Also, just a thought but Llorente only has 1 year left on his contract at Bilbao. Surely if Ade is on the rocks put all our efforts into him as 1st choice & someone younger to fight alongside JD as back up.
    Lloris/Butland
    Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Benny;
    Sandro, Moutinho/Allen/ A N other;
    Adam Johnson, Siggy, Bale;
    Llorente

    • Cuddlestone says:

      That’s probably a 60+ million spending spree you’ve got penned in there. Not going to happen unfortunately. But I agree that Llorente would be ideal.
