Good afternoon.

Curiously enough I was having a chat with a blogger of another Premier League side a few days ago and we both agreed that the word ‘cannibalism’ was indeed about the size of it. His club’s fans have also developed a taste for their brethren’s flesh.

So how long are you, in your inimitable wisdom prepared to give Andrè Villas-Boas?

I’m giving him my full support come what may until 3.15 on Saturday the 9th of February next year. By then I expect the following:

1. Us to be higher in the league than we are now.

2. To have played some excellent, dare I say it sexy football on a pretty routine basis.

3. To have demonstrated to any fair minded person that he is worth keeping on.

If it by this time, fifteen minutes into the Newcastle game indoors, he is looking every inch the Mr Bean/David Brent hybrid that some are suggesting now; after three games then I want to see him flung into a weighted, chained suit as per the scene in the excellent movie, Brazil. AVB ought must be hoisted in the style of Mr. Archibald Buttle out of The Lane. Destination? Parts unknown.

Cannibalism was ordinarily sanctioned by a cultural norm, but to be frank those cultures are pretty few and far between these days and it’s perhaps ambitious to think they might have wi-fi. Extreme famine can be a cause, but in the main people eating people is the domain of the mentally ill, or deviant. Perhaps consider which category you best fall into the next time you take a bite out of someone.

Christmas and he will have gone – yay!

February seems fair to me. We will all have a much better idea of where we stand. COYS

More importantly, how long will Levy give him? A number of people have suggested his P45 is already in the pile marked ‘pending’, but I’m of a far more positive bent; we’ll be flying sooner rather than later and hopefully it’ll shut a lot of these morons up.

I also happen to think that the only way the GBG will be sacked is if it all goes horribly pear- shaped and the spectre of possible relegation rears it’s ugly head. Levy’s plan is far more forward thinking and I’m convinced he’d accept a mid-table finish so long as there’s the very real indication that better times lie ahead.

Besides, as I said it’s all academic as we’ll be breathing down the necks of the title challengers ere long.

So it’s okay for you to call anyone who doesn’t believe in him (me included) morons, but we cannot voice our opinions. He’ll fail.

      • UnkleKev says:

To formulate an opinion (any opinion) on the flimsiest of data available (in this case three games) is moronic.

Trouble is you’ve all made your minds up about him and you’d rather see him fail than be proved wrong.

        That’s also moronic.

Kev, there seems to be quite a lot of morons about just now, doesn’t there?

Anyway, I understand your point, broadly you’re right. But I don’t think it’s ‘just 3 games’. Many people’s opinion of AVB essentially hasn’t changed since his Chelsea days, when they saw him as a massive bellend. I know he’s Spurs now and we need to see his better side, but it’s kind of tough for me to do a huge gestalt switch from my previous opinion that he was indeed a bellend.

But I certainly would rather be proved wrong than see him fail. I think he is more likeable this season, and not just because he is wearing a chicken badge not a racist blue colour. He seems like a slightly wiser man. I mean, I hope so!

Seriously, how can a mid-table finish indicate that there are better things ahead? Just think about it for a minute…

AVB needs to finish 5th or higher. Our squad is easily the 5th best, any lower finish would be a failure for which there could be little excuse. It would hardly indicate great things to come, more than likely it would indicate a mass exodus of our best talent and a set back of a couple of years.

I asked about our current manager, not what you were hoping for as a ‘best outcome’ for yourself at The Old Bailey.

I have given the ginger ninja 295 days from the start of the season.
thats a $1000 per day that wasn’t a bung in Arrys bank !!
