Faith: A Condemned Prisoner Requesting A Doggy Bag During His Last Meal

Good afternoon.

I’m struggling to get my head around where the boss is heading with this whole Adebayor business. Now clearly I write this from the perspective of someone who believes Adebayor to be a superior player to Defoe.

…at the moment we’re using one striker and Defoe is doing extremely well. At the moment, Adebayor is in contention for games where we play two strikers. He’s done extremely well in the games that he has come on but we have not found comfort in a formation with two strikers yet.

Villas-Boas oversaw this transfer. It was so – on – then off – then back on again – that it would be ambitious to suggest he didn’t have the opportunity to halt it. Also, there is this whole extraordinarily in depth scouting business. It’s really difficult to argue that once Ade eventually showed up for training that smiles suddenly turned into frowns. AVB must have known what he was buying.

Adebayor is not only a superior player of unquestionable human dimensions but he’s also not cheap. This isn’t like having Livermore sometimes getting a game, sometimes not. At least we now now that it isn’t a hamstring, it’s a tactical choice – but why Ade doesn’t fit the system is something I’m struggling to see.

I’ve great faith in the boss. But this does leave me really puzzled.

He’s one dodgy substitution away from showing the squad three envelopes…

Probably because he is scoring lots of goals and in top form. Always helps when a striker gets picked over another. Surprised you did not work that out.

Ade obviously isn’t buying into the AVB ‘plan’. And to be fair if he’s not playing i can kind of understand why.

There’s no surprise he’s starting to agitate – Arsenal, City fans will tell you the form and how he can behave when not getting his own way.

My tuppence – like it or lump it AVB is boss. Get on with it Ade, you’ll get your chance soon enough. Even if i think you’re a better fit for the lone striker role than Gem o’ Midget.

As a one man striker Adebayor doesnt strike for goal much. He goes a lot from rebounds (dont both of them?)
He has talent though and certainly would be good in a two player set up.
Problem with Defoe is he is better on the run or sliding them in close. He gets marked out easily of games and cant find space unless the game is open and cant muscle his way though.
Not sure what the answer is in a one man up top.If thats the case I would say Dempsey has to play close to the box too to work off of who it is.

AVB’s treatment of Lloris is a sign that he has a hard head. You have to work with people.
Many people think respect on a one way deal top down but its never that.
