Chalkboard For The Saints

Good morning.

Match of the day? Well we can live in hope.

The Saints sit a point ahead of QPR having won just one game for far this term and that was at home against Villa who they managed to beat 4-1.  Now what Southampton have managed to do is score. They’ve won naff all but they have scored against everyone. Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United…So we need a defense

Based upon his last two games alone (for England and us) Walker needs ‘a rest’. To regroup and refocus himself before it all goes horribly wrong for all of us. So I’ve brought in Naughton. To be blunt, at this stage a ‘caution wet floor’ sign would present more of an obstacle defensively than he’s been of late.

Billy was a close second in recent hate fests and I can’t take any of that seriously. Dawson for all his fan boy support is a hoofing heart-breaker we have to move away from this. All you do when you punt the ball away is turn possession into a 50/50 ball. I know it’s boring, but that’s predominantly what the bloke does.

First things second and I’ve put in Lloris but I think the boss will stick with Brad. i don’t know why, no sun up in the sky, stormy weather. Well I don’t think it will actually make things stormy but I just don’t see the good in it.

So where next? Barring a bout of post natal depression the Boy Bale ought to be back but I am unconvinced Moussa will be right. So at the risk of sending you my dear reader into spasm of wtf’ing I’ve gone for Thud. Why? Well I don’t need to watch Livermore again this season if I can help it, I don’t see Gylfi as a DM and despite the thinking of more charitable souls than mine none of the kids are ready yet.

Thud could make something happen and that leads me neatly on to playing a 442 with both of our brave strikers starting. I see little point in keeping either of them ‘up our sleeve’ against Southampton. This lot leak goals like nobody’s business and we need to make sure therefore we really focus on supply and therefore hopefully scoring.

Prediction? I’m sticking with us giving them a hiding. There’s no earthly reason why we should be the side that turns their abysmal form around. None whatsoever. We must show resolve – we must show steel.

They don’t like it up ’em, you know, The cold hard steel.

I really hope Dembele is fit, we have really missed him in the middle.

Yesh we need to Phil that cavity :-p

i hope tommy will shine today with sandro. defoe will keep scoring tonight and i personally hope another kyle will play and walker on the bench.

Sorry HH, could agree less. Saint will strangle us in midfield, especially with Tommy’s mobilities issue. To mitigate this I’d go one up (Ade) with Sandro, Tommy and Dembele as the 3, Moussa as no.10.
I don’t think AVB will do either, and not sure Dembele is fit. He’ll go Defoe up top and with Moussa out it will Sandro, Tommy, and the perennial Sig vs Dempsey choice as no.10. I have total faith that Sig will be a great player for us long term but there’s not doubt he has struggled. He’s played better away from home where the boo merchants won’t get on his case so I’d be inclined to give him another chance today – there were signs of improvement against the racists whilst Dempsey looked lost.

I’d agree with Naughton over Walker, but give Walker the cup games rediscover his form (and focus). Jan back in the middle THE MOMENT benny is fit. Lloris as no.1 already!..

  • Ronnie Wolman says:

Why cant they just tell Walker than he cannot go forward until he learns how to play defensively?

Then we can put him in.Jan in his best position,Caulker and Naughton on the left where he looked good.

    Lloris
    Walker,Caulker,Jan,Naughton
    Sandro
    Sigg
    Azza,Ade,Dempsey,Bale

F*ck it, I’d agree with this back 5. Drop Gallas and give Jan the armband. Give Walker until Benny is back to get his mojo back, or Naughton is in on the right.
