Good morning.

The good news is in the clip below as Hugo Lloris saves a penalty conceded by an Arsenal player and taken by an ex Arsenal player. Laurent Koscielny did his best to put Pedro’s shin into a different part of the stadium from the rest of him and the resulting penalty was saved well by our new boy.

I know we’ve seen little of him, but he looks right to me.

Lloris

The bad news is in the clip below and you’ll not be shocked to know that it relates to the nasty treatment that Danny Rose (and others) were subjected to last night.

UEFA president Michel Platini has already threatened Serbia with expulsion from Euro 2012 before a ball was kicked; because of their hooliganism and racist fans. Clearly they thought he was bluffing. Which is funny, because I think he was bluffing.

If Platini does do any more than make a dull speech and call for a low key enquiry resulting in a notional fine I’ll be pretty surprised.

But all football’s governing bodies are the same. Bathed in cash, basking in their own self importance. It’s 2012 and we have two Internationals scheduled. One is marred by right wing thugs and the other is allowed to degenerate in farce as a roof that takes just 20 minutes to close is left open for hours in torrential rain.

I wonder, just much more of a ride the people at the top of football family tree can take fans for before the money begins to dry up?

I havent seen the clip yet but I know Lloris is good.He should be our number one.
Brad has done a great job, give him some important games too (they are all important)Its about respect all the way around. The Lloris/Brad situation, the Serbian situation,The roof situation, its all about respect.I am not equivocating here regarding all issues today. Racism is disgusting and something should be done NOW about it.

There is no simple answer to the inefficiency of FIFA and UEFA’s punishment regime.

We all know that fining an “Association” £25k is not a deterant and that banning the “Association” is the only answer.

As fans we can only influence the debate through our support for the various initiatives the FA are promoting.

The true answer is the influence which governments can bring to bear on UEFA and FIFA. We have to either refuse to play the convicted racist Associations or threaten (and deliver) withdrawal from certain competitions.

European countries like France, Sweden, Italy, Belgium and Holland and others, who have multi-racial squads must join together to initiate pressure against the seemingly racist eastern european and Balkan countries.

This is a no-brainer. Withdraw from one tournament and the message will eventually hit home.

Ashamedly, it is a protest against FIFA and UEFA that is needed – not a fine for the guilty Association. Bans. Not fines.

We are talking about a global game here and if national governments are not involved then the idiots in FIFA, Uefa and the constituent FAs will continue to sit on their hands.

Mind numbing incompetence. And we pay for it.

    :(

Actually a poor penalty by the ex-Arse juvenile lead, and a good keeper who guesses right should save it. Arse must be pleased they took the money and ran. Koscielny should have walked for that one ……

The man looked like he grabbed a sandwich and a cup of coffee was drinking it as the train came into the station, looked at his watch, took a call from his broker, watched some of the debate on his Samsung Galaxy SIII and got on the train without spilling any of the coffee and dived to his right.

        Cool.

Stirred but never Shaken. Its Lloris Cool.

Interested to hear your opinion on Joe Hart’s display for England today Ronnie-he came-he missed-England conceded-Coming out for high balls is not the be all and end all of goal keeping-organization, however is. Why chance it and get caught out, when if your CD know they’ve got to deal with high balls-they will-they are central defenders after!

Here is Lloris’ double save. See how he came off the line to give Fabregas less space and make him shoot early. All class.

Chelsea are a team in stunning form. And we need a stunning performance to win. It’s gonna be down to Bale possibly. I wonder how his loss at Croatia hurt him.
