Slumped In Blood, Mr Platini

Good morning.

A grim start to proceedings then as we woke to the news that the inherently racist Lazio Ultras greeted Tottenham fans in the Drunken Ship public house Rome at about 0130hrs this morning in the traditional manner; battering and cutting them.

100 armed Ultras attacked leaving a current count of seven Spurs fans wounded and two stabbed.

The Italians baring Lazio colours wielded baseball bats, knuckledusters and knives. Some wore helmets. The police and fire service attended the scene and whilst arrests were made, many of the cowards involved fled. Italian media suggests that CCTV fotage of Campo de ‘Fiori is being examined.

To be honest I’d demand the game to be called off to emphasise to the powers that be that this sort of thing won’t be tolerated. I didn’t think my contempt for UEFA could increase but no, this has don’t it. There is too much money in the competition for excuses anymore. Fans must be protected.

The latest Spurs podcast is out now, folks!

Herbert was just waiting for something like this.

Actually what Herbert and people like the comedy stooge from Cheatski have done is to divert attention and focus from the real and quite grave issues of violence and personal abuse.

Administratively the Y-word issue is seen as an easier fix. Nobody gets stabbed, beaten up or specifically abused by it (ironically many enjoy it’s Call to Arms nature as well described by somebody yesterday) but nevertheless the administrators and the like say why not flex their muscles. It is easy. Like pushing a protestor to the floor.

These people would be better employed channeling their efforts into forcing the relevant authorities to withdraw any team which cannot safeguard supporters in AND around the ground.

Re-inforce it in this case by calling for the FA to ban any signing of foreign players, managers or coaches from countries where fascist, racist or violent behaviour is proven.

Democracy has given the fans a place to put their anger. It is tribalism in football stadiums and cheering for your club. The warriors themselves were put on the field with rules.
When it goes beyond that,it has to be dealt with.

Innocent fans going over and having a few pints before or after a game is not reason for barbaric responses by these fascists.

For me its for the Italian authorities to sort this out and make sure the away fans are safe while the game goes on.

Cancel the match. Kick them out. Relegate them to the lowest tier of Italian football. Make the Italian Ambassador go to the Foreign Office to be told in no uncertain terms that inaction over these murderous Neo-Blackshirts will not be tolerated. As I said on the previous blog, full refunds, tickets, travelling costs, long term psychological damage from the attacks, all costs to be met by this club which does nothing to curtail the abominable behaviour of these murderous thugs. Status quo is not an option.

    What nazi c*nts,

  • OrpSpur says:

It’s season in season out with the same culprit clubs involved…if this was an English club it would have been banned years ago. The institutional racism that UEFA & FIFA display towards the English only feeds these moronic fascists as they know they/their clubs will get away with a slap on the wrists. I agree cancelling and abandoning matches and awarding the points to the opposition is the best short term measure then ban the clubs for a minimum of two seasons.
