Spurs Scouts Watching Lyon Striker

Good afternoon.

This news comes in like a scolded pup sheepishly poking it’s head around the kitchen door to see if the dust has settled and that there might be a kind word or even a biscuit on the manor.

Bafetimbi Gomis is the name in the frame. Once a Newcastle target before the French snapped him up for £11M, his goal to game ratio is poor, quite frankly. 81 in 264 games. In fact, I don’t know why I’m passing this on. Hopefully to perhaps in some tiny way to aid it from not happening.

This guy is probably not awful, but as our current crop of front-men are demonstrating near weekly, we don’t need a work in progress. We need a man that can deliver to a Champions League standard, week in week out.

Even the Pav haters won’t wish this one on us.

    Gomis?

I put his name up years ago, after he scored those goals that eliminated Djibril Cisse(I think) from the French Euro 2008 squad. Promising and young he was at the time.

His scoring ratio has improved. And the French League isn’t known for being very high scoring.

So I will say, erm, interesting. “Baby Drogba” could be an upgrade. But whether he can play alongside Forlan, Aguero and Rossi is another question :-D

I ought to clarify that whilst he’s scored more goals as his career has progressed with age, he seems to have a shot attempts to goals ratio more in keeping with Defoe’s.

Yeah, let’s not bother with him.
