Welcome to the teatime shift.
Threads from forums rarely have enough substance to spark entire blogs. I know this blog deteriorated beautifully and may I add effortlessly into an online gentlemen’s club for wise guys/shysters/bums/stiffs many moons ago, but you know what I mean.
Whilst I find most stats and such quite near coma inducing this yiddodiddodo chap from Spurs Community has not only appeared to have done his homework on Everton’s manager but perhaps also righted what somewhat of a wrong.
As football pulses through us and washes by our every waking moment it is easy sometimes for even the most watchful among us to lose sight of reality.
Praise upon David Moyes isn’t lavished, it’s actually deployed in far more sinister manner as it has somehow inexplicably become a ‘given’ .
Oh Moyesy. He’s your man. Nothing but bread and dripping and his magnificence have kept Everton where they are, you know…
This guff is on a par with the veil of mystery and wonder that has managed to enshroud Martin O’Neil. You can see where I’m a heading here… Here are the ‘spends’ figures as I have them.

Why does money always make people argue?
God, why do we keep winning? It’s scary.
I know, I’m waiting for the wheels to fall off at any moment in true Spurs fashion.
Everytime I explain to my little boy how high up the table we are I have to double check myself, then I get a nosebleed!
Hanky? or two perhaps?, one for the tears of joy and the other for the nose
Actually Phil, I thought of a use for a third hanky, but I’ll wait until the City game’s over and done with!
If we’re still in this position at the end of Feb then I’m gonna need a whole box or two definitely!!
Who cares whether we spent more or less than Everton ?
I’d rather be us
Well the “myth” is that Moyes has done a great job by leading Everton to several top 5 finishes since taking the job whilst having a net spend of around £4million-ish a season (probably even less now).
Last night did not disprove that in anyway.
Even allowing for errors in your figures you fail to mention how most if not all of those players were purchased with money from previous player sales.
At least 3 of those players are completly passed it as first team professionals but have to be played due to lack of funds to actually buy replacements when needed so therefor the price paid for them does not reflect their value now.
As for the stadium issue, while we might have a bigger capacity than you you fail to take into account ticket prices and corporate boxes. I bet Spurs make more per sold out game than we do.
So quite frankly your suggestion that because the cost of our squad (using your inaccurate figures) was slightly more than yours for one game means that Moyes isn’t deserving of the praise he recieves for turning a relegation fighting team of over the hill players into one that was regularly challenging for Europe on a net spend of barely over zero is proposterous.
I get bored with these stupid you spent more than us / we’re a bigger team than you rubbish.
The fact is that David Moyes is a brilliant manager whose performance with limited funds is outstanding.
Who have you morphed into?

That course of Botox injections ODM got for Xmas are the Bee`s Knees. He will soon be allowed out during daylight hours.
I sort of agree, as I dont really think it’s Moyes who’s the problem at Everton, it’s their board. Surely using us as a blueprint would be the ideal way from them and similar clubs to pull themselves up by their bootsraps-lets pimp Levy out, for a price of course-luverly jubberly
The blue Brookside brigade are only on here coz they’ve run out of bins to dip into :silly:
