Good evening Record Breakers.

Whilst the second half degenerated into a hoof ball festival with the headline act being Brad F & Sunshine Coach Band we beat Manchester United in their own back yard. At half time their fans were booing. Did you hear them? And at full time their club lost the game.

Are the two mutually exclusive? Hats off yet again to our away support. Always outnumbered, rarely outgunned. A genuine credit to the firm.

There were those who who went missing in the second half and questions need to be asked about our collapse offensively. Rooney was a primary factor. But wow, what a great performance from the boys, eh? Jan, Bale, Moussa, Sandro, Azza, so many positives. So many…

Where were you watching? Who were you with? How’s your heart?! I ? AVB.

Dave Mackay was a fantastic influence for Ron Henry especially and also others in our defence at that time.I think Vertonghen will make everyone around him better. His desire is great,he also has an understanding of space and how to close an attackers options down.
Im also looking forward to Lloris being our number one, even though Freidel has upped his game.

I was astounded by the fact that my newsagent this morning was not stocking a souvenir edition of the Sunday Times.

I really give up on the media. They had a chance of redeeming themselves and failed.

I remember Ferguson banned the Beeb – Radio 5 – from press conferences. AVB should invite Jiggins for a recorded one-on-one to give the twat a chance to show himself up. “Give ’em enough rope…” and all that.

I’m disappointed with the Sherwood stories. I really think he was doing a fine job with the kids and is flexible enough to do other duties at the club.

If the twitter comments from Keys have been retracted, then doesn’t it suggest he’s been threatened with legal issues by Sherwood.

A statement from Sherwood would clear it up.

Sore head this morning. Alone in the room watching through fingers.

    Wife not speaking to me.

    Bliss.

    :freu

Where is the Sherwood story? All I read was some bollocks in the Sun saying he was ‘alleged’ to have had a bit of a row with AVB. No quotes or nothing. Is there anything more to it than that?

It was a report that Key’s tweeted then passed on rumour made up by a wanker (Paul Jiggling my scrotum) whose nose was put out of joint by AVB, when trying to be clever, but failing in epic proportions-and may I add the same reporter (Paul Jiggling-my ballbag) whose ‘scoop’ about Dawson was laughed off live on air, by Dawson himself..happy anniversary Paul Jiggling my testicles, you’ve been made to look a complete cunt twice in a clalender year..and you’re still employed..incredible!

I am a supporter of the new regime but Im also a democrat.
We were fantastic in the first half but the second we hung in there. We could have done a better job in putting some pressure on them in the second.
Of course knowing our history there it was good to hang on but they had some openings and could have done us in.
Defoe and Lennon were just running nowhere and nobody was holding the ball up so they had all the momentum in the second.
We are good enough to not have put ourselves under that much pressure.
It was a great win though.

Agreed, though the first half could not be faulted by the players or AVB, I thought he could have acted sooner / better in response to the Utd onslaught in the 2nd half. He took off Dempsey who was the only person up front capable of winning a header or possibly holding the ball up, and put on Sig who was always destined to be another headless chicken. He also left Defoe on for far too long, he was literally adding nothing in the 2nd half and on the couple of rare occasions he had to take the ball to the corner, win a throw in, or whatever, he of course chose to try and beat 3 defenders and a goal keeper with a pot shot, not relieving any pressure.

I know it seems like nit-picking after a fantastic and I would say fully deserved result, but we all know how torturous that 2nd half was and we all know it could have gone to the usual script on another day. I do think we had a long overdue dose of luck there in that 2nd half, but all the same I think a couple of earlier and better subs might have made it a teensy bit more comfortable.

Then again, we won, so what do I know? :-D

Didn’t it strike you as strange that the two players who looked shattered in the 2nd half, both played full games in midweek-Many on here are calling for cups over league position. Well it’s clearly evident that we can’t have both. If for example we’d have played Lazio instead of Carlise, you can bet a pound to a penny we’d have drawn that game yesterday-I’m afraid it’s one or the other and I’d sooner have nore day’s like yesterday, than winning a meaningless trophy anyday
