Good afternoon.
Brentdon Rodgers is a card, eh? There is something in the water at Melwood. I don’t remember him being such an overwhelming twit when he was at Swansea. More to the point I can’t believe that so many Spurs fans would have been suggesting Levy & Co. appointment him after Arry’s demise if that were the case.
Fatigue seemed to be nipping at the heels of one or two. And the decision to fly out the traps was definitely a good one. The Azza Blud goal was a body blow the Bale free kick delicious for us, vomit inducing for them. But and there always is a but, if there’s something in the water up there, then there’s something in the ‘Tottingham Gene’ that tells our lot not to go for the jugular, not to make the victory emphatic.
Overview analysis is that we still desperately need a settled back four. Right now we all too reliant on others pitching in when the heat is on. The return of Moussa is a delight and I look forward to him getting into his stride, finding his groove and really begin pulling the strings again.
The gulf between what Suarez offers and what Defoe offers was chilling. A churlish person would use this as an opportunity to slip in that quote from Arry but I’m not, so I won’t. See what I did there? But the point is we need to have 11 players on the pitch for the whole of every game and with The Midget Gem all too often we are only fielding 10.
When the Bindippers lost the ball the were actually furious and tore about wanting it back. Too frequently we pull a ‘Oh FFS’ face and wait for someone else to take the problem on. Normally that someone else is Sandro hence the fact he’s looking pooped.
Elsewhere it’s the usual business of people seemingly choosing ‘if and when they decide to show up’. I can’t get too overwrought though, because we won and had it not been for a fluke we would have won by 2 goals and not 1.
He’s like one of those bacterial yoghurt drinks that are good for you because they are proactive.
Improved is what he was.
Creaking like a creaking thing.
Needs to play CB
Good 1st half, reverted to type in the 2nd
Like a dog chasing cars
A touch of class. Unfit, but classy.
Unbelievably good free kick. Unbelievable.
When is he ever going to be really good?
Started off quietly and fizzled out.
Fal-cao? More like Kieren Fall-on after a bung…
Guest spots for future HHH shows are still available so come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.
Walker deserves a lot of credit for last nights performance, his defending was very good. Defoe was disappointing but was starved of the ball. For me Dempsey was far worse, he didn’t kick on from his performance at the weekend at all.
The return of the Mooooose was good to see, he’s a delight to watch when he effortlessly glides past players.
How the hell Walker managed to clear that ball off the line without hitting Gallas is a mystery.
Not really as he was actually trying to hit him, hence the miss :dizzy2:
An improved showing from Walker for sure, but I would say in mitigation that he didn’t have much to do. Lennon was constantly helping him out and the Poo were far more interested in Jan’s patch because Bale wasn’t helping him and he is no left back.
It was hardly world-class, but I will take any uptick from Walker. One more halfway decent game on the trot and maybe he can start to put together a little run of form. It’s all about confidence at this point, I am convinced.
The angle of his goal line clearance is actually an imaginary number. Go look at your protractor.
Saying Dawson reverted to type in the 2nd half shows a lack of clear thinking. What you saw was Dawson hacking and hoofing out of the box. What you obviously failed to see was the midfield failing to retain any kind of possession and chaperoning the likes of Johnson and Sterling to swing all manner of balls into our box. It’s not for Dawson to dribble the ball out of the box and keep possession in midfield, it’s for him to clear danger. In that regard, he had a solid 90 minutes, unlike many of the other players in the team.
When will Lennon be really good? :hae: He was probably our best player last night, overall. What is it you want him to be doing?
I agree, I forgot to mention Lennon and Dawson who I think both had very good games.
I also think Defoe has been one of our best players this season yet he constantly gets knocked as soon as he has a poor game! I personally think his poor performance last night was due to the fact that Dempsey didn’t link the play at all.
Defoe didn’t have a poor game he had a ‘no service’ game. Hoofed balls when marked are not his bread and butter. Pointless criticizing him for it imo.
Look LLL, I really don’t want to make a habit of this-but you’re right, right and right again-any room for me by the way? I’ll bring my own bail of hay of course!
El has started to make some good points lately….
I sense a disturbance in the force.
It’s all bull by all accounts ;-)
I want him to be consistent and play with the same desire that many LFC players showed last night. The bloke is a freeloader.
Lennon?!?! Honestly think you have no idea sometimes.
Lennon a freeloader? REALLY!!!
Or did you mean JD, to be fair neither are freeloaders! Lennon had a very good game and worked very hard for 94 mins, JD had no service at all.
Freeloader is way too strong. He’s good. The question was, when will he be really great? When he started getting games under Jol I thought he had a chance to be really great. But he’s not a really great player – he has great flashes.
Freeloader, no, but tease? Most certainly.
Harry get a grip.
Suarez offers one thing (it isn’t a guarantee of goals) and Defoe offers something else.
Its all very well being critical of Defoe’s contribution when in reality you would also be critical of Suarez’s profligacy if he were in a white shirt.
A more intelligent comment would be what a partnership JD and Suarez would make with the latter committing players and making space for the former. Neither offer the whole package but both are very strong in the some areas.

Come on mate. This is like saying how cool herding cats would be.
Nice idea, never gonna happen.
I know that….but there is no point highlighting the ‘gulf’ between Suarez and Defoe’s contribution because what they each offer is something totally different.
I would not have Suarez in place of Defoe but I would have him alongside him.
He makes a valid point though, which is that you’re comparing chalk with cheese. You’re “analysis” of Defoe’s, Lennon’s and Dawson’s performance is woefully Lawrensonesque or to be blunter complete bollocks.
Dawson did what it said it does on the tin! Lennon ups his game when it matters, Defoe has 10 goals already without the presents of Modric & VDV.
I’m OK with the AVB “give him time” new Timex thing but that applies to all & sundry.
Boy Spotty Spur get a grip!

Talksport is on fire tonight!! Durham is a twit. His opinions are just provocative, just like that Herbert fella. Lloris, Kaboul, Dembele are all WC. cOYS.
