Arsenal and Chelsea are both reportedly keen on signing Barcelona forward Ferran Torres this summer transfer window.
Torres moved to Camp Nou from Manchester City back in 2022 and has since won three La Liga titles along with several major domestic cup competitions.
Despite those team successes, the 26-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular starting position within Barcelona’s squad.
Across 31 starts in all competitions this season, the Spanish forward scored 21 goals and contributed three assists for the Catalan club.
Torres has remained a key figure for the Spanish national team, winning the European Championship a couple of years ago and securing his place in the World Cup squad.
Barcelona are open to keeping the forward by offering him a new contract, but Torres reportedly wants guaranteed playing time before agreeing to any extension.
The forward is valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt, and his existing deal at Barcelona is set to run until June 2027.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is described as a long-term admirer of Torres, with the Gunners looking to reinforce their frontline despite winning the Premier League title.
Chelsea, who endured a difficult campaign this season, are also in the race as they prepare for a new rebuild under Xabi Alonso’s guidance.
Aston Villa, Real Betis, AS Monaco, and Ajax Amsterdam are also reportedly interested in securing Torres’s signature this summer.
Torres offers versatility across the frontline, capable of playing as a centre-forward or in a wide position, and previously demonstrated his quality during his time in the Premier League.
Whether Arsenal or Chelsea will make a concrete approach to sign the Barcelona star remains to be seen as the summer transfer window develops.
