Arsenal have agreed a £10 million transfer fee to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, according to TalkSPORT.
The Gunners have held a long-term interest in the teenage talent and have now formalised an agreement with the east Midlands club.
Arsenal beat eight clubs from home and abroad to secure the deal, with Manchester United, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen all among the unsuccessful pursuers.
Monga cannot formally sign a professional contract until he turns 17 on July 10, but the fee has been agreed in advance of that date.
The young winger first broke into Leicester’s first-team setup as a 15-year-old during the 2024/25 Premier League season, making an immediate impression.
He became the second-youngest debutant in Premier League history after coming on as a substitute against Newcastle United, behind only Arsenal’s own Ethan Nwaneri.
Monga also became the youngest-ever scorer in the Championship when he netted against Preston North End in August last year, underlining his remarkable early trajectory.
Despite accumulating under 1,000 minutes of action, he still managed to contribute two assists and caught the eye with a series of impressive cameo performances throughout the season.
Former Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy previously hailed Monga as a “fantastic” talent, and it is easy to understand why so many clubs were monitoring his progress.
The Telegraph has reported that Monga will travel with Arsenal during pre-season, with a decision on a potential loan move to be made after that period concludes.
His arrival comes at a time when Arsenal are also assessing senior options on the left wing, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both entering the final year of their respective contracts.
Both players could potentially be sold this summer, adding further urgency to Arsenal’s recruitment efforts in that area of the pitch.
Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers have been shortlisted as senior targets, with Rogers potentially commanding a British record transfer fee.
If Monga can fulfil his enormous potential, he could develop into a key long-term option on the left wing for Mikel Arteta’s side in the years ahead.
