Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Lille centre-forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo ahead of a possible summer transfer to Anfield, according to Footmercato.

The 21-year-old began his footballing journey at Lille’s academy before spending much of his early education in Belgium with KAA Gent.

Fernandez-Pardo represented KAA Gent’s U18s, U21s, and Jong Gent sides during his time in Belgium, making 38 appearances across those teams.

His senior debut came on March 9, 2023, when he came off the bench in the 85th minute during a 1-1 UEFA Europa Conference League draw against Istanbul Basaksehir.

He went on to make 27 more appearances for the Belgian side before returning to Lille in the summer of 2024, where he has since made a strong impression.

In the recently concluded campaign, Fernandez-Pardo contributed 15 goal involvements across all competitions and played a decisive role in Lille’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Lille finished fourth at the end of the season to secure their Champions League place, with Fernandez-Pardo emerging as a key attacking figure for Les Dogues throughout the campaign.

According to Footmercato, Lille are not open to selling the Belgian international and will only consider his departure if they receive a £60m offer.

Liverpool will also face competition from Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for the 6ft 2in forward, per the French outlet.

The Reds are set for a significant squad overhaul this summer after finishing fifth in what proved to be a disappointing title defence following their 2024-25 Premier League triumph.

Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, and Andy Robertson are all set to leave the club following the expiration of their contracts, with Robertson having reportedly agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Goalkeeper Alisson is also said to be undecided about his future at the club, adding further uncertainty to Liverpool’s squad situation heading into the new season.

Former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is set to take charge at Anfield according to reports, following the departure of Arne Slot from the dugout.

Fernandez-Pardo could hand Iraola his own version of Evanilson, who provided 21 goal contributions across two seasons for the Basque manager during his time in management.
