Manchester United have identified TSG Hoffenheim forward Bazoumana Toure as a priority target and are ‘seriously pushing’ to secure his signature this summer.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a strong Bundesliga campaign, contributing five goals and nine assists across 30 league appearances for Hoffenheim this season.

Toure made the move to the PreZero Arena from Swedish club Hammarby last year and has quickly established himself as one of the more exciting young wingers in Germany.

His performances helped Hoffenheim qualify for next season’s Europa League, underscoring his importance to the club’s recent success.

The youngster has also earned international recognition, securing his place in the Ivory Coast squad for this summer’s World Cup.

He played a role in Ivory Coast’s famous 2-1 friendly victory over France in midweek, a result that marked the country’s first-ever win against Les Bleus.

Newcastle United are also tracking Toure, but United are ‘seriously pushing’ to win the race and beat the Tyneside club to his signature.

Hoffenheim are in no rush to sell, with the player contracted until 2029, and are demanding a club record fee above his Transfermarkt valuation of around £35m.

Toure is a left-footed left-winger by trade who offers pace, technical quality, dribbling ability in tight spaces, and creativity when it comes to unlocking opposition defences.

Manchester United currently rely on Matheus Cunha as the primary left-flank option, though he is not a natural winger, making the search for a specialist in that position a genuine priority.

Manager Michael Carrick used Patrick Dorgu to support Cunha on that side during the season, though Dorgu is naturally a left-back rather than a wide attacker.

There are questions about whether Toure, who has yet to fully develop physically, is ready to handle the demands of Premier League football at this stage of his career.

United will be hoping to resolve those doubts and push through a deal before the summer window closes, with competition from Newcastle adding urgency to their pursuit.
