Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis for a fee in the region of £35 million.
Reports from The Sun indicate the Gunners are close to reaching a full agreement with Brugge to bring the Greek international to the Emirates Stadium.
Tzolis is already waiting for the final go-ahead from Arsenal to undergo his medical and complete the remaining formalities of the transfer.
The move is directly linked to the expected departure of Leandro Trossard, with Arsenal having already reached a verbal agreement with Besiktas over the Belgian’s £17 million sale.
Trossard has yet to agree on personal terms with the Turkish club, but that outcome is expected after he returns from the World Cup.
Tzolis enjoyed a remarkable 2025/26 campaign with Club Brugge, registering an impressive 22 goals and 29 assists across all competitions for the Belgian champions.
He predominantly operated as a left-sided winger and impressed observers with his dribbling ability, link-up play, and clinical finishing throughout the season.
The 22-goal winger also proved his quality at the highest level in Europe, contributing in Champions League matches against Atalanta, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid last term.
Despite the Pro League sitting a couple of levels below the Premier League in overall quality, those European contributions have demonstrated Tzolis has the credentials for a bigger stage.
Arsenal view the Greek international as a quality backup option on the left wing, though his arrival is not expected to affect the club’s separate pursuit of Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers.
Villa’s staggering £130 million asking price for Rogers means Arsenal may require more time to negotiate a suitable deal with the Midlands club.
Gabriel Martinelli currently occupies the specialist left wing position in Arsenal’s squad, and his future could come under scrutiny if the club successfully lands both Tzolis and Rogers this summer.
Martinelli’s contract expires in June next year, though a 12-month extension clause does exist within his current deal at the club.
