Everton have submitted a formal £29m offer to sign Turkey international left winger Baris Alper Yilmaz from Galatasaray this summer, according to Turkish outlet Per Haber Turk.
The 26-year-old has been on Everton’s radar for some time, with reports via Football Talk previously revealing that the Toffees were plotting a move for the winger.
Yilmaz joined Galatasaray from Ankara Keçiörengücü in 2021 and has since developed into one of the club’s most influential and consistent attacking players.
Over five years at Rams Park, he has firmly established himself as a key figure not just for Galatasaray but across the Turkish Super Lig as a whole.
His most prolific campaign came in 2025/26, when he produced an outstanding return of 12 goals and 16 assists across 49 appearances in all competitions.
Despite being unable to fully replicate that level of impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his qualities as an attacker remain evident and highly sought after.
David Moyes’s side have moved quickly, submitting a formal £29m bid to Galatasaray for the 6ft 1in forward who reportedly dreams of a Premier League move.
However, Galatasaray consider the offer insufficient and are demanding a fee of £42m before they will sanction Yilmaz’s departure from the Turkish champions.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has separately reported that Everton are preparing to submit a new and improved offer to sign Yilmaz this week.
The statistics paint a compelling picture of what Yilmaz could bring to Moyes’s Everton side, particularly given the manager’s preference for a crossing-heavy style of play.
Among Premier League attackers, only Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, with 4.28 successful dribbles in the final third, outperforms Yilmaz’s impressive figure of 2.82, according to Comparisonator.
Defensively, Yilmaz ranks second among Premier League attackers for successful defensive action percentage at 61%, trailing only Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, who registers 63%.
His crossing ability also stands out significantly, with 1.18 successful crosses per 90 placing him fourth in the Premier League last season, behind Minteh, Gordon, and Chelsea’s Pedro Neto.
Physical duels represent perhaps his most dominant attribute, with Yilmaz winning 10.14 per 90, comfortably ahead of Everton’s own Iliman Ndiaye on 9.4 and Jack Grealish on 9.2.
With a revised bid expected imminently, all eyes will be on whether Everton can bridge the gap between their current offer and Galatasaray’s £42m valuation.
