Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye as they push to complete a stunning double swoop this summer.

The 18-year-old Senegal international has signed a five-year deal in principle with the Reds, choosing Anfield over Bayer Leverkusen as his preferred destination.

TEAMtalk insider Graeme Bailey confirmed on Monday morning that Mbaye has sealed a personal terms agreement with Liverpool, following a similar breakthrough with Bradley Barcola late last week.

Barcola’s agent Moussa Sissoko and Jorge Mendes, who is working on Mbaye’s situation, have both helped establish the framework for personal terms with Liverpool.

The major obstacle in both deals remains PSG’s valuation of their two wingers, with the European champions initially seeking close to £200 million combined for the pair.

However, the arrival of Ajax winger Mika Godts at the Parc des Princes has given PSG greater flexibility, with sources indicating Barcola could now be available for closer to £125 million.

Mbaye’s asking price could also drop significantly, falling from around £50 million to approximately £30 million, making the combined outlay closer to £155 million.

Liverpool have already brought in Victor Munoz this summer but are identified as needing further reinforcement in wide attacking areas ahead of the new campaign.

Cody Gakpo is being pursued by Tottenham Hotspur, Hugo Ekitike will be out until December after undergoing Achilles surgery, and the club still needs to replace Mohamed Salah following his Anfield departure.

Barcola is seen as a potential first-choice left winger to replace Gakpo, while Mbaye could slot in on the right flank as Salah’s long-term successor.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique has already added Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres, and Mika Godts to his forward line this summer, reducing his reliance on both Barcola and Mbaye.

Neither player featured in the PSG squad for the Trophée des Champions defeat to Lens on Sunday, a conspicuous absence that added further fuel to transfer speculation.

Luis Enrique was notably terse when questioned about the duo’s futures in his post-match press conference, declining to offer clarity on either situation.

French reporter Fabrice Hawkins stated: “The Reds will now continue negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to complete a potential double deal. The two clubs still need to reach an agreement over the valuation of the two wingers. An agreement has yet to be reached.”

Liverpool’s ambition to land both PSG forwards signals a bold intent to reshape their attacking options and challenge at the highest level next season.
