Jean-Philippe Mateta’s representatives are actively working to secure the Crystal Palace striker a move away from Selhurst Park before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa have all been approached about a potential deal for the 29-year-old France international.
Mateta has been eager to leave Crystal Palace for much of the last 12 months, with talks over a January departure collapsing at the final hurdle.
Proposed moves to AC Milan and Juventus both broke down in January due to concerns over an issue with his knee, leaving the striker frustrated and still at Palace.
The forward has also challenged the validity of the final 10 months of his Palace contract, arguing the additional year should not have been activated.
The original agreement, signed following his 2021 move from Mainz, contained a 12-month option clause that Palace subsequently triggered and Mateta contested.
Mateta took his case to a Premier League tribunal and then to FIFA, but his contract remains in place and he has continued to feature for the club.
Palace have made their position clear, insisting they have no intention of selling the seven-cap France star despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future.
The club are well aware that Mateta could walk away for free next summer if he remains at Selhurst Park beyond this transfer window, yet they are standing firm.
Manchester United have been approached as they continue to evaluate their forward options, with Marcus Rashford potentially available and Joshua Zirkzee also a likely departure candidate.
Tottenham have also been contacted and retain long-term admiration for the 135-goal forward, even as they close in on deals for Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City.
Spurs are still keen to bolster their attacking options further, making Mateta an appealing target as they look to build depth across their forward line.
Aston Villa have similarly been made aware of Mateta’s availability as Unai Emery’s side look to address a growing striker shortage of their own.
Villa’s need for a centre-forward has become more pressing with Ollie Watkins pushing for a move to Al-Hilal, leaving the club without an established senior striker heading into the new season.
