Despite Arsenal’s advanced position, Manchester United have a long-term interest in Hinshelwood and are planning their own move to sign the Englishman.
Brighton could be persuaded to part with the midfielder for a transfer package worth between £43 million and £51 million, as reported by The Sun.
United have already bolstered their midfield this summer with the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, but remain open to further reinforcements before the window shuts.
Hinshelwood’s versatility makes him an attractive prospect for both clubs, having featured as a defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, and at both full-back positions for Brighton under manager Fabian Hurzeler.
