Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held talks to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, according to TEAMtalk.
The North London club currently has Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as their two primary centre-forward options heading into the new campaign.
Solanke has struggled to consistently show his best form since arriving at Spurs from AFC Bournemouth a couple of years ago.
The Englishman was also sidelined during the first half of last season due to a serious knee injury, further limiting his contributions.
Richarlison was Tottenham’s highest scorer last term, though his long-term future at the club remains uncertain with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
TEAMtalk report that Spurs are planning to upgrade the No.9 position, but would first need to offload either Solanke or Richarlison to make room for a new striker.
Osimhen has impressed greatly in the Turkish Super Lig and is now ready to make the move to the Premier League, with Tottenham among the clubs offered the chance to sign him.
The 27-year-old is valued at around £64m by Transfermarkt and remains under contract with Galatasaray until 2029, meaning the Turkish club are in a strong position to demand a significant transfer fee.
Osimhen is currently on a very high wage at Galatasaray, and Spurs would need to make him one of the club’s highest-paid players to meet his current earnings demands.
The Nigerian striker previously helped Napoli win the Serie A title before joining Galatasaray on loan in 2024, with that deal later becoming permanent.
In 39 appearances across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign, Osimhen produced an impressive 44 goal contributions for his side.
Last season he continued to demonstrate his quality, scoring 22 goals and registering six assists in 33 appearances across all tournaments.
He has also helped Galatasaray win two league titles over the past two seasons, underlining his consistent impact at the highest level of club football.
At 27 years old and in the prime stage of his career, Osimhen would represent a significant coup for Tottenham should they ultimately decide to pursue a deal.
