AFC Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams is reportedly ready to make the move to Manchester United, according to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.
Jacobs revealed the information on The United Stand YouTube channel, stating that Adams would welcome a formal approach from Old Trafford.
Adams joined Bournemouth from Leeds United in 2023 but endured a frustrating debut campaign at Vitality Stadium due to a lengthy hamstring problem.
The 27-year-old has continued to deal with fitness concerns over the past two seasons but has still managed to show his quality when available.
In 25 Premier League appearances last term, Adams registered four goal contributions and played his part as Bournemouth secured Europa League qualification.
His performances have also been enough to cement a starting role with the United States national team, further underlining his credentials at the highest level.
Manchester United have identified Adams as one of their top targets to bolster their midfield options this summer ahead of a demanding campaign.
Jacobs was clear on the valuation Bournemouth are working with, stating: “The player [Adams] would be keen on a move to Manchester United, though, but my information is that although Adams is not unsellable, that number would probably be closer to the £50m mark rather than in and around the £35m, which has found its way out into the media.”
Adams has a contract at Bournemouth that runs until 2028, giving the Cherries strong leverage in any potential transfer negotiations this summer.
United have already moved to reshape their midfield this summer, bringing in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s serious knee injury.
However, the club are reportedly still seeking a third midfield addition to help manage the workload across all competitions after qualifying for the Champions League.
Adams fits the profile United are targeting, operating primarily as a defensive midfielder but also capable of contributing in a box-to-box capacity when required.
He is regarded as a physically robust, possession-efficient player who brings consistent defensive output, making him an appealing option for a club with European ambitions.
The primary concern surrounding any deal will be his injury history, with fitness issues having repeatedly disrupted his development since his move to the Premier League.
United will need to carry out thorough due diligence on his physical condition before committing to what would be a significant £50m investment in the American international.
