Arsenal travel to the Stadium of Light tonight looking to extend their perfect start to the Premier League season with a victory over Sunderland.

Mikel Arteta’s side have won all four of their competitive fixtures so far this season, building serious momentum heading into this fifth outing.

The Gunners kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 win over Napoli in Italy on Wednesday night, with Martin Odegaard’s second half rocket securing the three points in Naples.

Arsenal had already made a dominant start in the Premier League, beating Coventry City and Aston Villa before defeating London rivals Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

That result gave Arsenal a maximum nine points from their opening three Premier League games, placing them right at the summit of the table.

A win tonight would move the Gunners three points clear of Manchester City, adding further weight to their title credentials this early in the campaign.

Arteta has made four changes from the side that beat Napoli, with goalkeeper David Raya retaining his place and Ben White, Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes continuing in defence.

Riccardo Calafiori returns at left-back and Myles Lewis-Skelly is restored in midfield, while Christos Tzolis is recalled on the left wing in place of Eberechi Eze.

Kai Havertz replaces Viktor Gyokeres up front, giving Arsenal a slightly different look in attack compared to their midweek European outing.

Jurrien Timber returns to the squad for the first time since the Champions League final, and the defender could get minutes from the bench tonight.

Sunderland will look to cause an upset at the Stadium of Light, with their starting eleven reading: Roefs; Mukiele, Ballard, Danso, Mandava; Sadiki, Xhaka; Angulo, Le Fée, Meunier; Brobbey.

Arsenal line up as follows: Raya; White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Lewis-Skelly, Odegaard; Saka, Tzolis, Havertz.
