Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all reportedly targeting Bayern Munich right back Josip Stanisic as they plan their defensive recruitment for 2027.

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that all three Premier League clubs have identified the Croatian international as a priority defensive target for next year.

A fee of around 56 million would be required to test Bayern Munich’s resolve over a potential sale of the full back.

The transfer will be far from straightforward given Stanisic’s prominence in Vincent Kompany’s plans at the Bavarian club.

Despite the three-way interest, Arsenal may ultimately prove the least committed of the trio when it comes to pursuing Stanisic seriously.

Mikel Arteta already has Jurrien Timber at his disposal, and the recent purchase of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa provides additional cover at right back.

Liverpool appear to have stronger motivation, with Conor Bradley’s lengthy injury lay-off and Jeremie Frimpong’s underwhelming form creating genuine concern in their defensive ranks.

Manchester United also have clear reason to act, with Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui having been inconsistent for several years while opponents repeatedly target their wide areas.

Stanisic’s ability to remain calm under pressure, defend proactively through his reading of the game, and retain possession make him a sound defensive option rather than an attack-minded full back.

The 26-year-old has won everything domestically at Bayern Munich, raising questions over whether a Premier League move would appeal to him heading into 2027.

His decision will likely hinge on whether regular Champions League football and top-level competition in Germany outweighs the appeal of one of England’s biggest clubs.

All three Premier League sides made meaningful signings during the summer window but clearly believe further defensive reinforcements remain necessary going forward.
