Arsenal and Manchester United have both expressed serious interest in signing Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, according to CaughtOffside.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a remarkable 2025-26 campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering seven assists across all competitions while captaining Forest to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
Aston Villa ultimately eliminated Forest at the semi-final stage, but the run represented one of the club’s most memorable European campaigns in recent memory.
Gibbs-White’s 15 Premier League goals made him the second-highest-scoring Englishman in the division last season, finishing behind only Ollie Watkins in that particular ranking.
His contributions were widely credited with helping Forest retain their top-flight status after the club faced genuine concerns about relegation during the earlier stages of the campaign.
The midfielder had reportedly agreed personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur last summer before ultimately committing his future to Forest by signing a contract extension through June 2028, following the intervention of club owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Despite that renewed commitment, a departure from the City Ground remains possible this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the reported chase for his signature.
For Arsenal, CaughtOffside notes that his directness, combativeness, technical qualities and ability to carry the ball deep into threatening positions make him a suitable option who also fits into Mikel Arteta’s search for a creative goal threat upfront.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are looking to reshape their midfield and attack, and have identified the England international as the ideal Premier League-proven profile who can create chances, press relentlessly and deliver goal output from midfield.
The competition for Gibbs-White is fierce, with CaughtOffside also reporting that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and several European clubs are all involved in the race to sign him.
Gibbs-White’s underlying numbers from last season help explain why so many clubs are monitoring his situation so closely heading into the transfer window.
In attack, he attempted a total of 83 shots during the campaign, with 32 of those finding the target, suggesting his final tally of 18 goals could easily have been higher.
Defensively, he recorded 3.18 recoveries per 90 minutes, won 130 duels across the season, and claimed 20 possession wins in the final third alone.
Nottingham Forest value Gibbs-White significantly higher than his £60m Transfermarkt valuation, meaning any interested club will need to be prepared to spend heavily to secure a deal.
